Vin Diesel has been spotted belting out Scotland’s national anthem on the streets of Edinburgh.

The Hollywood superstar is in town filming Fast & Furious 9 and on Wednesday he sang a rousing rendition of Flower of Scotland to fans on the Royal Mile.

Captured on Instagram by @ronnyz__, Diesel asks the gathering crowd if any of them are locals.

Standing on the Royal Mile holding an umbrella, the 52-year-old thrusts his arm into the air and says: “Who’s Scottish here, raise your hand?”

After one man shouts back, he says: “All right, let me here you sing it” and starts singing Flower of Scotland.

But only one man joins in, leaving Diesel to try and encourage the onlookers.

As the man continues singing, the actor – who plays Dominic Toretto in the series – says: “there’s only one person singing!”

He then joins back in, punching the air as he sings: “that fought and died for, your wee bit hill and glen.”

Adding a Scottish brogue to his voice, Diesel stamps the ground and belts out: “and stood against them, Proud Edward’s army.”

He flings his arm wide and points away while singing: “and sent them homeward” before pointing to his head and finishing with: “to think again.”

He then punches the air again as he walks away from the crowd, who burst into cheers.

Diesel was joined in Edinburgh by John Cena, who is set for his debut in the Fast and Furious franchise.

The WWE legend was partying in a bar on Wednesday night, standing on stage telling fans he was grateful to be there.

On Monday, Diesel shared a video on Instagram reminding fans he had promised to film in Scotland 18 years ago when he hosted the MTV VMAs in a leather kilt.

Stood outside Rosslyn Chapel, he told fans Universal executives had flown to Edinburgh for a secret meeting about Fast 10.

He also praised Scottish stars he had worked with previously.

Diesel starred alongside Doctor Who assistant Karen Gillan in Guardians of the Galaxy and Game of Thrones stars Rose Leslie and Rory McCann in The Last Witch Hunter and XXX, respectively.

He also worked Sam Heughan in Bloodshot, which is due out next year.

And the Outlander hunk was quick to put his name in the ring for the next Fast and Furious installment, commenting: “Fast 10! I’m available bud.”

The next day, Diesel shared some behind-the-scenes footage as he drove a black muscle-car up the Royal Mile, before stepping onto the street.

He told viewers he was “blessed” to be in Edinburgh and waved to the huge gathered crowd.
