At the age of 19, Kylian Mbappe was a millionaire with a high salary at PSG, a world champion but his clothes were extremely simple.
Kylian Mbappe is the second teenager to score in a World Cup final. At the age of 19, he was already a world champion. At the age of 19, Mbappe played for one of the most financially powerful clubs in the world, PSG. So it’s not too much to call Mbappe a “rich kid”.
According to L’Equipe, Mbappe has an income of 1.8 million dollars (41 billion VND) every month. But the amount of money Mbappe spends on clothes is extremely modest, surprising many people. Especially when comparing Mbappe with Neymar, his teammate at PSG but always spends a large amount of money on famous brands.
This is the outfit when Mbappe went to the training field with the French team recently. He wore a white T-shirt costing 50 pounds, black skinny jeans costing about 20 pounds and Nike Air Force 1s costing 75 pounds. A total of about 145 pounds (nearly 4.5 million VND). A set of clothes that is too modest compared to the “rich kids” in Vietnam.
Mbappe feels comfortable in sportswear. During another training session, Mbappe wore a hoodie costing 75 pounds, a T-shirt costing 50 pounds, sweatpants costing 50 pounds and a pair of Nike Air Vapormaxes costing 150 pounds. The whole set of clothes costs about 10 million VND, less than 1/1000th of the monthly salary.
In this set, pair of Nike Air Jordans for £150. But what caught the attention was the hat that was probably designed specifically for Mbappe with the letter KY (Kylian).
Sometimes Mbappe also changes styles, from T-shirts to Oxford shirts with zippers. This is a collaborative design between Nike Lab and Riccardo Tisci. This shirt costs £85 and the pants are around £120. Mbappe’s hat costs about 25 pounds. This set costs 230 pounds.
It can be seen that Mbappe is quite simple in dressing. His entire set of clothes averages about $400 for pants, shirts, hats and shoes, too modest compared to his salary of $1.8 million per month.
This does not mean that Mbappe is calculating in spending. The proof is that he donated up to 265,000 pounds, the amount he received while competing in the 2018 World Cup, to a charity fund in France.
It is no coincidence that Mbappe is becoming the new idol of young people, after Messi and Ronaldo.
