Sylvester Stallone was in particular high spirits while out for dinner in Rome last night, putting on quite an animated display.

The Rambo star treated his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and daughter Sophia to a swanky dinner at Pierluigi restaurant on Tuesday night, as they continue to enjoy their Italian holiday.

After enjoying their meal, the 73-year-old actor was seen chatting to a male friend outside the restaurant and he clearly enjoyed their conversation, flailing his hands around while recalling what appeared to be a very exciting anecdote.

It had been a busy day for Sylvester and his family after earlier embarking on a shopping trip at Chanel and visiting an art gallery.

While Sylvester can no doubt hold his own against overzealous fans, the Hollywood star was accompanied by even burlier bodyguards as they walked around the city.

The trip appears to have been a great bonding experience so far for Sly and his daughter Sophia, 23, after they were spotted sweetly hugging while out and about in the city earlier this week.

Once the trip wraps up, Sly will be busy with promo for his next movie release, Rambo: Last Blood.

The actor will swap the warm climes of Rome for the slightly chillier temperatures of Manchester this weekend to host a dining experience for fans.

In promotion of the latest Rambo installment, Sylvester will enjoy a three-course meal with around 900 fans at Manchester Central on 6 September.

Diners attending An Experience With Sylvester Stallone will be serenaded with music from a 20-piece orchestra – and of course Sly’s good company.

As they tuck into their gourmet meal, guests will enjoy the sounds of the Rocky and Rambo soundtracks.

Sly will then hit the stage to take part in an interview hosted by Jenny Powell.

Sounds like a right hoot for those lucky enough to grab tickets – although the tables seated closest to Sly have of course sold out.
