LeToya Luckett praises Beyoncé for fostering an amazing atmosphere during the Destiny’s Child Reunion.

The R&B star opened up about her recent reunion with the iconic girl group ahead of Urban One Honors on SaturdayLeToya Luckett; Beyoncé.

LeToya Luckett is feeling grateful to have reunited with her Destiny’s Child bandmates.

While speaking with PEOPLE before hosting Urban One Honors in Atlanta on Saturday, the R&B star opened up about how the iconic girl group was able to reunite backstage when Beyoncé brought her Renaissance Tour to their hometown of Houston in September.

The singer/actress explains that fateful calls and texts helped to arrange the get-together — which put her and fellow founding members Beyoncé, LaTavia Roberson and Kelly Rowland, as well as Michelle Williams, in the same room for the first time in years — and that she is still feeling “blessed” by the entire experience.

“I’m so glad that [Beyoncé] created a wonderful space for us to all come together,” Luckett says.

“[The] love in the room was everything that I wanted it to be, thought it could be,” she shares. “It was what I wanted and always dreamed of. And I’m blessed to have even had that opportunity because there’s some people that’ll never get that.”

The “Torn” artist says that the “loving space” allowed for the “Say My Name” group to catch up, pray together, hug one another and “do our mama girl talk thing,” now that most of the singers have welcomed children of their own.

Luckett explains that it was heartwarming to see how far each member of the iconic Y2K group has come, and how much they’ve grown up since they were girls singing together in Houston. “Everybody’s just going on to do amazing things,” she says. “To also see everybody as moms and wives, we’ve grown up. We’re adults out here, it’s full-blown adulting going on.”

The star also spoke about how special it was to not just be in the same room with the founding members of the Grammy-winning group, but also Williams, 44, who joined the lineup in 2000 after Luckett and Roberson, both 42, left.

Luckett says that she feels as though “it was God” that led to the sisterhood shared by the entire band, including Williams, whom she calls her “sis.” “Honestly, me and Chelle are probably the closest to everybody,” she shares. “We talk the most.”

“I love her, I love my sisters,” the performer adds. “I’m proud of everybody.”

The former Destiny’s Child members — save for Farrah Franklin, who joined the group for a brief period in 2000 — spent time with one another before Queen Bey’s hometown concert at NRG Stadium on Sept. 23, 2023.

Several months after the gathering, Luckett reflected on the experience by sharing a sweet photo from the night of all five women posing together on Instagram.

In the caption, the singer-songwriter shared how much the moment meant to her.  “✨ALL LOVE✨,” she wrote. “This was hands down my favorite moment of 2023 ❤️.”

After mentioning that the love, joy, prayer and healing that she embraced during their reunion is what made it feel so special, she added, “May we all experience beautiful moments like this in 2024,” and thoughtfully called the crew “All of the Chilren.”

The “Survivor” band’s backstage reunion wasn’t the only time together they all stepped out to the same event in 2023. Luckett, Roberson, Rowland and Williams showed their support for Beyoncé, 42, at the Los Angeles premiere of her concert film Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé in late November.

Although they were not photographed together, the Destiny’s Child performers each walked the red carpet and took to social media after the event to continue to celebrate the film’s release.

The legendary music group has reunited several times since they parted ways in 2006.

Most recently, the trio of Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams performed at a private event in honor of Tina Knowles’ 70th birthday. Over the years, the three stars have also performed at special events, including the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and Bey’s headlining Coachella set in 2018.
