Journalist David Ornstein has now claimed that there is a Chelsea player who is more likely to be sold this month than Conor Gallagher.
He told The Athletic that the club are actually very fond of the midfielder, and there is in fact another player more likely to depart in the final week of January.
Reports have claimed that the sale of Gallagher cannot be ruled out this month, despite him proving to be an essential part of Mauricio Pochettino’s system.

However, he is not the only player being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this month.
Armando Broja has been linked with a number of clubs as the window comes close to an end, with the club reportedly open to the right bid.
Now, Ornstein has claimed the sale of him is more likely at this stage than his fellow academy graduate.
Broja more likely to leave than Gallagher
He said: “The ‘ideal’ situation is not a firm rule, so it’s plausible the window closes without either a new contract or sale — and right now Armando Broja is looking a more likely departure from Chelsea than Gallagher.
“To be clear, Chelsea are extremely fond of Gallagher as a player and character. He is an important part of coach Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, but we know there are other factors involved, so let’s see how the next week pans out.”
With Nicolas Jackson the only other recognised first team striker right now, it would be wise to not sell Broja this month in order to not shoot themselves in the foot for the remainder of the campaign.
However, with the reported top transfer target right now being a striker, it may not be long until the 22-year-old sees his place in the side under threat.
Victor Osimhen is frequently mentioned as the dream addition, however he will not be available by any means this month.
