Kai Havertz and William Saliba thought £6m Arsenal man was absolutely brilliant against Liverpool last night

Both Kai Havertz and William Saliba have now been celebrating an Arsenal teammate after a seismic win against Liverpool.

It was a brilliant night for Mikel Arteta’s side, one that puts them right back in the mix for the title.

And perhaps even more importantly, the victory will serve as a bit of redemption too, Arsenal were still reeling after their frustrating FA Cup exit.

However, on this occasion their dominance wasn’t in vain, they scored the goals to match.

Bukayo Saka scored the opener, even if it may have been more satisfying to see Kai Havertz dispatch his big chance himself.

And although Arsenal’s second was as a result of some freak Liverpool defending, credit does have to go to Gabriel Martinelli.

The forward was electric throughout, a player so determined to win.

And it’s certainly no coincidence that Martinelli was the player there to make haste of Liverpool’s lapse of judgement.

That being said, Havertz and Saliba were quick to congratulate the Arsenal goal-scorer on Instagram after the game.

Kai Havertz and William Saliba loved Gabriel Martinelli’s Arsenal display vs Liverpool

Following the game, Martinelli uploaded a series of photos from the win on his Instagram with a caption of “The Arsenal. Emirates was on fire.”

The Brazilian was clearly loving every second of the aftermath, as he did in the 90 minutes.

And as expected, a host of Arsenal players and fans were quick to congratulate Martinelli in the comment section.

Havertz simply left a fire emoji for his Arsenal teammate, whereas Saliba left a message in Portuguese saying ‘Obrigado’, thank you in English, probably in reference to Martinelli’s goal covering for his mistake.

Martinelli really does deserve all of the plaudits, especially given his season hasn’t quite gone as well as he might have hoped.

The £6m Brazilian hasn’t been poor by any means, but he has lost his start to Leandro Trossard on occasion – something unthinkable last year.

But when the crunch games come, as last night proved, Arsenal will need Martinelli.

That being said, William Saliba broke a remarkable Arsenal record despite his rare blunder last night.
