Unemployed David de Gea beams with his wife Edurne during a family bike ride after the former Manchester United player makes a significant transfer choice.

UNEMPLOYED David de Gea was all smiles as he enjoyed a family bike ride with wife Edurne and daughter Yanay.

The former Manchester United star, 33, remains without a club after being released from his Old Trafford contract last summer.

De Gea reportedly turned down a late offer to join Nottingham Forest in January.

And SunSport exclusively revealed on Saturday that the goalkeeper is holding out for a transfer to a Spanish club.

In the meantime, De Ge continues to make the most of family life at home.

And he could not resist an outing with his loved ones at the weekend.

De Gea was joined by wife Edurne, 38, and daughter Yanay, 3, as he cycled along in an all-black outfit.

Edurne pedalled her own way as De Gea ferried Yanay in a child’s seat.

And the trio stopped to take an adorable photo, with each member of the De Gea clan smiling broadly for the camera.

It remains to be seen if De Gea lands himself a new club before the end of the season.

He became a first-teamer for Atletico Madrid aged just 18 years old, helping them win the Europa League and Super Cup.

After 84 games for the LaLiga giants, De Gea earned a £19million move to United in 2011.

He went on to play 545 times for the Red Devils, winning a Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League in the process.

De Gea was also capped 45 times by Spain, with his last international appearance coming in 2020.

Following his Man Utd exit in July, he posted on social media:  “I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters.

“I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club.

“I took incredible pride every time I pulled on this shirt. To lead the team, to represent this institution – the biggest club in the world – was an honour only bestowed upon a few lucky footballers.

“Now it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.

“It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think, from leaving Madrid as a young boy, we would achieve what we did together.

“Manchester will always be in my heart. Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me. We’ve seen it all.”
