But it is not the first time the unlikely friends have met.

Last night, A$AP Rocky, 35, was seen wearing a grey Prada denim jacket, dark slacks and black lack shoes, while Brigitte Macron was pictured in a royal blue jumper.

Afterwards, A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, was pictured leaving the restaurant as he struck a pose for the waiting photographers.

The respective partners of Mrs Macron and her dining companion – President Emmanuel Macron and music megastar Rihanna – were nowhere to be seen and the reason for the rendezvous was not clear.

But the group had previously all met at the palace for a charity event in January, which saw A$AP Rocky and Rihanna wearing matching black leather ensembles, while Mrs Macron sported a black pantsuit with silver embellishments.

The superstar couple was also pictured with artists Kendji Girac and Alban Travia, who shared the photos of the event on his Instagram story.

The rapper performed at a charity gala a few days later alongside Marron 5, K-Pop group Stray Kids, Lisa from Blackpink and French rapper Gims.

The gala was held at Paris’s Accor Arena for the Yellow Pieces charity, which Mrs Macron is in charge of, which aims to raise fund to improve the daily lives of hospitalized children and adolescents.

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna share two sons, RZA aged 1 and Riot, who is five months old.

Rihanna has met Mrs Macron and her husband Emmanuel Macron before, back in 2017, to discuss the country’s international education funding.

This was after the singer had reached out to the president on social media.

Emmanuel Macron later met Rihanna after she appealed to him on Twitter to contribute to her fund for education in developing countries. They met again in Dakar in 2018, to raise money for education in developing countries.

The First Lady has also met Rihanna in her role as head and founder of the Clara Lionel charity foundation.

The charity is a nonprofit organization that funds education and health programs for impoverished communities across the globe and was named after Rihanna’s grandparents.

It has found partnerships with Global Partnership for Education, Global Citizen Project and Christian Dior.
