The Wild Plan For Phoenix Suns This Summer: 3 Chances To Draft Bronny James, Would LeBron James Join The Superteam?

The Phoenix Suns can create the greatest team ever with LeBron and Bronny James this summer.

The Phoenix Suns can create an absolute tsunami this summer in the NBA’s landscape. It is no secret that LeBron James has a $51 million player option for the 2024-25 season, but he also has the innate desire to play with his son, Bronny. Even though LeBron reportedly wants to sign for over a $100 million deal from the Lakers which would pay him more than his latest contract deal, the Suns can apply the strongest pressure on him to accept a minimum deal if they decide to draft Bronny James.

Currently, Bronny James is outside of the second round per the latest 2024 NBA Mock Draft, but that means nothing because the ultimate prize would be LeBron James, who is committed to playing on the same team as his eldest son. The Phoenix Suns will have one first-round pick and two second-round picks in the 2024 NBA Draft, and they could make a very smart move and land Bronny and his father LeBron James. Below are the picks that the Suns can use this summer:

– 21st first-round pick (Wizards have the right to swap, but they will not do it, because they currently have the No. overall 2 pick)

– 33rd second-round pick (Suns have 2024 Spurs pick, 55-60 protected)

– 55th second-round pick (Suns have 2024 Nuggets pick)

Even if many teams are looking to draft Bronny to lure LeBron James, the Phoenix Suns have the picks and the roster to get it done and therefore create the strongest team in NBA history.

Bronny James has some potential as a shooter and all-around offensive player but there are doubts about his ability to compete in the NBA at a high level. There are even reports that Bronny James has been removed from the 2024 ESPN Draft Board altogether, something LeBron James furiously disagrees with. While Bronny getting removed from a mock draft seems harsh, it will not affect what NBA teams will try to do, and specifically, what the Phoenix Suns can do.

Since the Suns have been on a mission since last season to stack the deck with superstars, and achieving that by trading for Kevin Durant and eventually Bradley Beal, acquiring LeBron James and Bronny James would be the biggest move in NBA history. Now, let’s imagine this scenario. With the 33rd pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select Bronny James. Just like that. No one expected that and no one would draft him that early, but that will put pressure on LeBron James to miss out on a supermax payday and instead, compete with the most stacked superteam of all time.

That leaves LeBron James with a very important decision to make: a $51 million extension or possibly a $100 million deal versus a chance to go after his fifth NBA championship alongside his son.

While LeBron is in a very fortunate position to be able to pick between two excellent choices, he has placed himself in this position through hard work and incredible talent. Even if James is a billionaire, it never hurts to earn an extra $100 million because that is simply life-changing no matter how much a man has in his bank account.

Foregoing a longer-term deal that promises $100 million or even rejecting $51 million to play one more season with the Lakers is not an easy thing to accept, but LeBron might have a stronger desire to win a championship and do so while playing with his son. How many NBA superstars have had the chance to join a team that features Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal? No doubt, it would be in the best interest of LeBron James if he were to sign a veteran’s minimum deal with the Suns.

Phoenix Suns Superteam With LeBron James

The prospect of LeBron James joining the Phoenix Suns to form a superteam alongside Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Jusuf Nurkic under the coaching of Frank Vogel (who coached LeBron with the 2020 championship Lakers) presents an exciting opportunity for both the Suns and LeBron himself. With the potential addition of Bronny James through the draft, the Suns could offer LeBron the chance to compete for multiple championships while creating a unique and special opportunity to share the court with his son.

The allure of playing in a warm city with a passionate fanbase, coupled with the opportunity to equal Kobe Bryant’s championship tally and move closer to Michael Jordan’s legacy, makes the Suns an attractive destination for LeBron. While individual accolades may take a backseat because he won’t be the favorite to win Finals MVP trophies with the Suns, the opportunity to win championships alongside his son would undoubtedly be a fulfilling and memorable experience for LeBron James, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history.

Understanding that he is a billionaire with generational wealth already, LeBron James can reject maximum money and sign a veteran’s deal to win championships and play with his son for at least two more seasons. It won’t be easy to leave Los Angeles, where both LeBron and Bronny have become accustomed, and it certainly won’t be easy to let go of money, but a chance like this doesn’t come often and no team in either conference would be able to compete with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.
