When NBA fans often chat about the greatest left-handed players in NBA history, the usual suspects like Bill Russell, David Robinson, and James Harden always make their way to the top of the conversation. Lost in that same conversation, however, are the proficient and awe-inspiring lefty shooters that have also graced the court throughout history.

Today, we will go team by team to reveal the greatest left-handed three-point shooter from all 30 NBA franchises. These lefty assassins fought their way into the record books with unconventional yet smooth shooting strokes that are among the most effective and visually appealing in the game’s history.

I am willing to bet that none of our readers were expecting to see a Kent Bazemore sighting within this article but here we are. Bazemore was a 10-year NBA journeyman who played with five teams in his career. Five of those seasons would come with the Hawks from 2015 through 2019 where he made 453 threes and shot 35.5% from three overall. Bazemore ranks 11th in Hawks history in three-pointers made and outside the top 250 players in NBA history with 694 made in his career.

Boston Celtics – Isaiah Thomas – 460 Three-Pointers

The two-and-a-half seasons that Isaiah Thomas spent with the Boston Celtics from 2015 through 2017 were some of the most magical times of the 2010s in the NBA. Along with Thomas’ playoff heroics and fights through injury and personal tragedy, his perimeter shooting took center stage during his time there. Thomas’ 460 made threes in that short time rank 1oth in Celtics history and his 36.8% conversion rate ranks 16th. In those two-plus seasons, Thomas averaged 24.7 points per game and finished fifth in MVP voting in 2017.

Brooklyn Nets – D’Angelo Russell – 324 Three-Pointers

D’Angelo Russell played just 129 games with the Brooklyn Nets in 2018 and 2019 after being traded from the Lakers in 2017. Russell made his only career All-Star appearance in Brooklyn in 2018-19, averaging 21.1 points and 7.0 assists per game. As far as his three-point shooting goes in Brooklyn, Russell shot 35.5% from deep on 7.1 attempts. His 324 threes are the most by a lefty in the organization’s history as well as 11th in franchise history by any player.

Charlotte Hornets – Miles Bridges – 550 Three-Pointers

The first player to appear on our list while actively contributing to their total three-pointers made with the same team is Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges. With the organization since they drafted him 12th overall in 2018, Bridges has knocked down 550 threes on 1,556 attempts, giving him a career three-point average of 35.1%. Bridges ranks fifth in Hornets history in three-pointers made but remains 733 behind franchise leader Kemba Walker with 1,283.

Chicago Bulls – Toni Kukoc – 351 Three-Pointers

Toni Kukoc is a Chicago Bulls legend and a Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer who helped the organization capture three championships in his time with the team from 1994 to 2000. In those six-plus seasons with the Bulls, Kukoc attempted 1,072 threes and knocked down 351 of them, giving him a shooting percentage of 32.7% for those seasons. The 1996 Sixth Man of the Year ranks 12th in Bulls history in three-pointers made and could fall to 13th in the coming weeks with eight more made by Center Nikola Vucevic.

Cleveland Cavaliers – C.J. Miles – 209 Three-Pointers

When it comes to left-handed shooters in the history of the Cleveland Cavaliers, their history does not run all that deep. You have to go all the way down to 29th place in team history to find their first lefty, CJ Miles, with 209 threes in a Cavaliers uniform. Miles played 116 career games for the Cavaliers during the 2013 and 2014 seasons where he averaged 10.6 points per game on 38.8% shooting from three during that time. The former second-round pick would play 16 seasons in total in the NBA, knocking down 1,250 threes in his career which is tied with Shane Battier for 81st in NBA history.

Dallas Mavericks – Jalen Brunson – 281 Three-Pointers

Look away Mavericks fans, this one will be painful. Jalen Brunson, current All-Star point guard for the New York Knicks, is Dallas’ best left-handed shooter in team history thanks to his four seasons with the team from 2019 through 2022. In Brunson’s short time with Dallas, he shot 37.3% from three on just 2.7 attempts per game, hitting 281 of 753 attempts in total. Brunson’s 281 threes in Dallas ranks 22nd in franchise history. Interestingly enough, Brunson has already made 280 threes in New York in 154 fewer games.

Denver Nuggets – Nick Van Exel – 425 Three-Pointers

Nick Van Exel is another left-handed scoring sensation at point guard to lead an NBA franchise in three-pointers made. Van Exel is the Nuggets’ left-handed leader in threes with 425 made in 245 games with the team from 1999-2002. Van Exel averaged 17.7 points per game during his time with Denver, shooting 34.1% from beyond the arc. Van Exel’s 425 threes in Denver rank 12th in franchise history and his 1,528 career three-pointers rank 47th in NBA history overall.

Detroit Pistons – Tayshaun Prince – 510 Three-Pointers

During his 12-year career with the Detroit Pistons, Tayshaun Prince was lauded for his defensive effort and role that helped them become NBA champions and he was selected to four All-Defensive Teams. Prince was also known to knock down his fair share of big shots from time to time even if his jumper wasn’t the smoothest-looking one around. Prince shot a respectable 37.1% from three in his career with the Pistons, knocking down 510 of his 1,376 attempts. He ranks fifth in team history in three-pointers made and made just 59 threes in 215 career games he played with the Grizzlies, Celtics, and Timberwolves.

Golden State Warriors – Chris Mullin – 590 Three-Pointers

One of the greatest pure shooters, scorers, and overall players in Golden State Warriors history is franchise legend Chris Mullin. When it comes to left-handed jump shots, Chris Mullin’s is one of the high standards of how it should look from start to finish. Mullin gave 13 seasons of his career to the Warriors where he went to five All-Star Games and made three All-NBA Teams. Mullin’s 20.1 points per game is 11th in team history and his 590 threes are seventh in team history.

Houston Rockets – James Harden – 2,029 Three-Pointers

Of all the great left-handed shooters on our list today, no player has made more for one franchise than James Harden did for the Houston Rockets from 2013-2021. Harden’s ascent to becoming an MVP and one of the best players in the NBA during this time came with three scoring titles and a signature step-back three-point shot that was impossible to defend. Harden is the Rockets franchise leader in three-pointers made by nearly 1,000 over Eric Gordon and has made the most three-pointers by a lefty in NBA history with 2,896 which is third all-time.

Indiana Pacers – C.J. Miles – 456 Three-Pointers

We get not one but two C.J. Miles sightings in a day? What on Earth is going on here? Even more so than he did with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miles was a sniper from beyond the arc during the three seasons he spent with the Pacers from 2015 through 2017. In those three seasons, Miles averaged 12.0 points per game while shooting 37.4% from deep. He did enough shooting from the perimeter to reach eighth in franchise history in made threes and recorded a total of 2,510 points.

Los Angeles Clippers – Luke Kennard – 349 Three-Pointers

Luke aka “Nuke” Kennard is another active NBA player to make this list after moving on from the franchise he leads as a left-handed shooter. Kennard is one of the game’s purest shooters right now, sporting a career 43.8% shooting percentage from deep and with 761 threes in total in just six-plus seasons. With the Clippers, Kennard shot 44.8% from deep in three seasons, knocking down 349 threes in just 168 games and ranks 13th in franchise history.

Los Angeles Lakers – Derek Fisher – 846 Three-Pointers

Any basketball fan of the 2000s and 2010s knows just how much Derek Fisher meant to the Lakers. As a five-time NBA champion, Fisher hit his fair share of big shots for the purple and gold over the years which includes many from beyond the arc. In 13 total seasons with the team, Fisher knocked down 846 threes which trails only Kobe Bryant for the most in franchise history. Despite taking an average of 2.5 threes per game, Fisher shot 37.5% from deep and is by far one of the more accomplished lefty shooters in Lakers and NBA history.

Memphis Grizzlies – Mike Conley Jr. – 1,086 Three-Pointers

Mike Conley Jr. is one of five left-handed shooters to knock down at least 1,000 three-pointers with one NBA team in his career. Conley was one of the faces of the Grit and Grind era in Memphis from 2008 to 2019. Conley was one of the better two-way guards in the NBA at the time, showing out with his 37.5% shooting from deep as well. In 12 total seasons with the Grizzlies, Conley became the Grizzlies’ franchise leader in three-pointers made and remains 472 in front of the next closest active player, Desmond Bane with 634. Conley also ranks 28th in NBA history overall with 1,748 career threes made.

Miami Heat – Goran Dragic – 588 Three-Pointers

From 2015 through 2021, Goran Dragic was an All-Star point guard for the Miami Heat. During this time, he averaged 16.2 points per game on 36.5% shooting from beyond the arc, knocking down 588 threes in total for the team from South Beach. Dragic’s all-around point guard skills were never more refined than when he was with Miami and the same can be said about his shot-making ability from deep. Dragic ranks seventh in Heat history in made three-pointers and 109th in NBA history with 1,150 tied with Wesley Person.

Milwaukee Bucks – Michael Redd – 1,003 Three-Pointers

Michael Redd should not only be considered one of the greatest lefty shooters ever but he is also one of the greatest left-handed players to ever step on the court altogether. Redd became a Milwaukee Bucks legend during his time with the team from 2001 through 2011 and still remains in a role within the organization today. Redd’s 1,003 made threes with the Bucks earned him one All-Star and All-NBA Team selection as well as a 20.0 career scoring average in a Bucks Uniform. He ranks third in franchise history behind only Ray Allen and Khris Middleton in Bucks history in made threes.

Minnesota Timberwolves – D’Angelo Russell – 482 Three-Pointers

D’Angelo Russell is now the second left-handed player to appear on our list, leading two different franchises in three-pointers made. Russell is also the left king for the Minnesota Timberwolves where he spent three-plus seasons from 202 through 2023. Russell was a 36.6% three-point shooter during his days in Minnesota, averaging 18.5 points per game. The 482 threes he made while there rank fourth in the history of the franchise behind Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and Andrew Wiggins.

New Orleans Pelicans – Morris Peterson – 208 Three-Pointers

In his first of two appearances on this list of franchise-leading lefty three-point specialists, Morris Peterson represents the New Orleans Pelicans. Peterson played just three seasons with New Orleans from 2008 through 2010, appearing in 165 games and knocking down 208 three-pointers. In Pelicans history, Peterson ranks 20th in three-pointers made, shooting 38.3% from three and averaging 6.8 points per game.

New York Knicks – Julius Randle – 638 Three-Pointers

As historic of a franchise as the New York Knicks are, it is a recent left-handed scorer that has ascended toward the top of their three-pointers made list. Julius Randle, with the Knicks since the start of the 2019-20 season, is the Knicks’ all-time left-handed leader in threes made, shooting 33.8% from beyond the arc over the last five seasons. Randle’s 638 made threes rank fourth in Knicks history, just 344 behind John Starks for the number-one spot.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Sam Perkins – 592 Three-Pointers

One of the first big men to take a step behind the three-point line and make an impact as a left-handed shooter was Sam Perkins. With the Seattle SuperSonics from 1993 through 1998, Perkins became the all-time lefty leader in franchise history with 592 made threes. He shot 38.2% from beyond the three-point line during this time and averaged 11.1 points per game. Perkins’ 592 threes rank eighth in franchise history.

Orlando Magic – Jeff Turner – 73 Three-Pointers

Former Orlando Magic power forward Jeff Turner is the franchise’s all-time left-handed leader in three-pointers made with 73. Of all the players on the list today, Turner is the only one without reaching the 100 three-pointers made mark with the specific franchise he leads. Turner spent seven seasons with the Magic from 1990 through 1996 where he averaged 6.5 points per game and shot 35.3% from three on just 0.5 attempts per game.

Philadelphia 76ers – Thaddeus Young – 208 Three-Pointers

The Philadelphia 76ers have also lacked a true lefty shooting specialist in their team’s history. Taking the franchise lead for threes by a lefty is former 12th overall pick by the franchise in 2007, Thaddeus Young. In seven seasons with the team from 2008 through 2014, Young averaged 13.7 points per game shooting 32.1% from three on just 1.3 attempts per game. He knocked down 208 threes which ranks 28th in 76ers history.

Phoenix Suns – Goran Dragic – 398 Three-Pointers

Goran Dragic is on the list for the second time, and this time as the leading lefty three-point shooter in Phoenix Suns history. In six total seasons and 388 games played, Dragic drained 398 threes while shooting 36.1% from three on 2.8 attempts per game. Dragic’s six seasons with the Suns came with a 12.3 points per game scoring average and a spot at 12th in franchise history in made three-point field goals.

Portland Trail Blazers – Damon Stoudamire – 717 Three-Pointers

Portland Trail Blazers legend Damon Stoudamire is one of just eight lefty three-point shooters to reach 700 made threes with a single team in his career. Stoudamire played eight seasons with the Trail Blazers from 1998 through 2005 where he averaged 12.8 points per game and shot 35.9% from beyond the arc. With 717 made threes, Stoudamire ranks sixth in franchise history but current star Anfernee Simons is just eight behind him with 709.

Sacramento Kings – De’Aaron Fox – 627 Three-Pointers

De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings is the third and final current player still adding to their franchise-leading total in 2023-24. In the last seven seasons, Fox has developed into an All-Star and All-NBA point guard with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 21.0 points per game and shooting 33.1% from three for his career. Fox’s 627 three-pointers are not only the most by a lefty in team history but rank sixth all-time with the fifth spot within striking distance this season.

San Antonio Spurs – Manu Ginobili – 1,495 Three-Pointers

Another player on this list among the greatest left-handed players in NBA history is Basketball Hall of Famer and four-time NBA champion, Manu Ginobili. In 16 seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, Ginobili knocked down 1,495 three-pointers and averaged 13.3 points per game for his career. Ginobili is San Antonio’s all-time franchise leader in three-pointers made by more than 300 shots. The closest active player to his total is Keldon Johnson who has made 461 threes.

Toronto Raptors – Morris Peterson – 801 Three-Pointers

Morris Peterson becomes yet another left-handed three-point shooter to make a second appearance on this list. This time, it comes with the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft and where he would spend the first seven seasons of his career, the Toronto Raptors. In seven seasons, Peterson knocked down 801 threes and shot 37.1% from deep, making his way to third on the franchise’s all-time list behind only Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet.

Utah Jazz – Joe Ingles – 1,071 Three-Pointers

Joe Ingles is the fifth and final left-handed shooter on our list to make at least 1,000 three-pointers with a single franchise. Ingles knocked down exactly 1,071 three-point shots with the Utah Jazz from 2015 through 2022, averaging 8.6 points per game on 40.8% shooting from deep. Ingles’ 1,071 three-pointers are the most in Utah Jazz history by any player with no current threat to his record present with the team.

Washington Wizards – Kelly Oubre Jr. – 246 Three-Pointers

The final left-handed franchise leader in three-pointers made is Kelly Oubre Jr. for the Washington Wizards. Oubre debuted with the Wizards in 2015-16 and went on to appear in 252 games for them through the 2019 season. Oubre knocked down 246 threes, averaged 8.2 points per game, and shot just 32.0% from beyond the arc. Despite the seemingly low amount of made threes from the nine-year veteran, he ranks 17th in franchise history in made three-point field goals.
