Speaking from recent experience she asserted, ‘And just because there’s a female lead doesn’t mean it’s not going to hit all four quadrants which is, you know, I think a misconception that a lot of people still have.’

‘It’s really important that Barbie did well,’ Margo continued.

‘As much as it is nice, it’s also really important that it does well so people can also in future have big, original ideas and be given the budget to execute them properly.’

The accolades for Barbie continue to come in and awards buzz is building.

It was announced Monday that Greta Gerwig would received the Director of the Year award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January.

‘Director Greta Gerwig has brought us the cinematic experience of the year with Barbie,’ said Festival chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi.
