Salma Hayek Pinault has been on a winning streak since shooting her new film Like A Boss, she told Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday and she credited Tiffany Haddish‘s bunions.

The 53-year-old actress was appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new movie in which she plays a villain scheming against Tiffany and Rose Byrne’s characters.

Since shooting the film, her career had been on a high, Salma revealed, claiming that the film had some kind of special ‘superpowers’ and tracing them to a most unlikely source.

‘I figured out what was the secret and why I’m doing so well,’ the 2002 Oscar winner said. ‘It is Tiffany. She has these mojo bunions. I promise you.’

Salma continued straight-faced, as Jimmy, 45, tried not to laugh.

‘One day she was complaining about it, and I said, ”Girl, give me that foot.” And I rubbed it like the Aladdin lamp, or like the Buddha belly. I rubbed the bunion, and my life changed. She has a magical bunion, Tiffany.’

‘If anything starts going back, I’m gonna find her and be like, ”Give me that foot”,’ Salma added.

The movie star said the film had generally been a ‘good-luck charm’ for her and everyone who worked on it: ‘I’ve done five movies since then, and everybody in the movie is working non-stop and doing great,’ she marveled.

‘If you’re superstitious, come and see it, because it might change your life. And if you’re not superstitious, come and see it because it’s very funny.’

Salma also has a role in the upcoming Marvel filmThe Eternals, out in 2020, about which she could say only that she was ‘excited,’ calling everyone involved with it ‘incredible.’

She told a hilarious story about what she’d been up to since she last saw Jimmy, explaining that experienced ‘a special connection with ducks’ over the past summer.

‘I don’t know what that means, but they came to me a lot,’ she revealed, as the show’s host cracked up, looking confused.

Salma explained that she was having breakfast over the summer with a friend from Mexico when her husband, French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, 52, used the bathroom in their mudroom.

‘Then he comes back, and he goes, ‘Oh no! That’s it! This is where we draw the line!’ Salma recalled, noting that he went on: ‘This is like another level of crazy! I found you out! I found what you were hiding! I found the dog hiding in the thing!’

Funny story: Salma told a funny story about ‘a special connection with ducks’ over the past summer

‘I said, ”I don’t have any extra dogs! I haven’t picked up any dogs!”,’ Salma continued, to which her husband replied, ‘Not the dog! The duck!’ until she understood his meaning.

‘I said, ”I don’t have a duck!”,’ Salma recounted, to which her husband said: ‘Yes, you do! Stop lying! God knows how long you’ve had that in there!’ And I go, ”You’re crazy! Hallucinating!”’

To prove him wrong, Salma went into the mudroom. ‘And then, on this armoire, there he is,’ she shared. ‘A duck. Inside my house.’

The couple had their security staff figure out how the duck got into the house, and they reasoned it must have been through the chimney, a detail that greatly amused Jimmy.

The actress said she had been ‘so excited’ to see the visiting duck. ‘It was a blessing to have an animal come inside my house, to visit, and I was, ‘Ah, mi amor, que lindo!’ she remembered.

Francois-Henri was less than thrilled. ‘My husband was like, ‘What do you mean, ‘mi amor?’ Salma said. ‘There is s*** everywhere! He destroyed the place! You’re getting rid of that duck!’

Salma opened the windows, to try to let the duck fly, but he sat there calmly, waiting.

‘I wanted to be a good host,’ she observed. ‘I brought him some lettuce, so finally at 6:00, he insisted enough, and I had to carry him because he would not leave, and then let him fly away. But you know, I was so sad.’

It all worked out for the best, Salma suggested, saying that her husband has come to believe in her ability to draw animals to her, even if he won’t admit he does.

‘Two days later, we came to Los Angeles, at night,’ Salma reflected. ‘When he woke up in the morning, we had another duck, with five babies in the pool.’
