Roger Federer: Even after retiring, he is still unmatched in terms of earning money

Roger Federer increased his assets by $330 million in the past year, thanks to investments in a shoe manufacturing company and a sponsorship contract with Uniqlo.

Forbes magazine data shows that Swiss sports shoe brand On achieved revenue of nearly two billion USD just one year after its initial public offering (IPO) in 2022. On’s capitalization value after IPO up to 10 billion USD. This helps Federer, who owns 3% of the company, increase his assets by $300 million.

Federer is currently On’s global ambassador, design partner and investor. The Swiss legend poured money into On in 2019, one year after ending the sportswear sponsorship contract with Nike. Federer knows On through his wife, Mirka – who uses the leading Swiss sports shoe line.

Before Federer invested capital, On only had market share in Switzerland and a few European countries. After the Covid-19 pandemic, this brand grew strongly, selling globally.

In addition to his successful investment in On, Federer still regularly pocketed $30 million per year in a 10-year contract with Uniqlo clothing company since 2018. To date, Federer has earned $150 million from Uniqlo despite his competition. Played very little in the final years of his career, before hanging up his racket in the summer of 2022. Like On, Uniqlo chose Federer as its global ambassador, considering him a symbol outside of tennis.

According to Forbes, during the last 10 years of his contract with Nike, Federer pocketed $10 million per year to wear all of the American sports company’s competition outfits, including shoes. After parting ways with Nike in 2018 to end an era of more than two decades of collaboration, Federer still wore the company’s shoes for nearly a year, before investing in On.

Federer earned $130 million in prize money throughout his career but pocketed 10 times that amount thanks to investments and sponsorships. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Swiss superstar earned no less than one billion dollars before retiring. He is the only tennis player and the seventh athlete in world sports history to achieve this milestone while still competing. The remaining six include Tiger Woods, Floyd Mayweather, LeBron James, Phil Mickelson, Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

In a recent development, Djokovic’s father made an unsympathetic statement towards the legendary Federer. Speaking to Serbia’s K1 TV, Mr. Srdjan Djokovic (Nole’s father) said that Federer is a “genius” in both talent and talent. The ability to perceive people should soon detect Djokovic as an opponent.

Djokovic’s father harshly commented on Federer to K1 TV: “15 years ago, he (Federer) attacked my son when he (Nole) was only 18 or 19 years old. He knew that this was a better tennis player than him. . He (Federer) is a great champion, but also not a good person.”

Maybe Mr. Srdjan Djokovic is not satisfied with Federer’s previous statement about Djokovic. The incident in question happened at the 2006 Davis Cup, when Switzerland faced Serbia and Montenegro in the play-off match. At that time, Federer accused Djokovic of faking an injury during his match with Stan Wawrinka, and called the situation a “joke”.

FedEx’s original statement is as follows: “You know, I don’t believe in his (Nole’s) injury. I’m very serious and I think he (Nole) just made a joke about his injury.” so”.
