Major MCU projects are in works including ‘Black Panther 3,’ a new report claims.
Several slates already confirmed by Marvel Studios are in production or development. But here is one more good news for fans, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding more superhero franchises, as per the latest reports.
Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther
While Marvel Studios has refused to recast King T’Challa after the untimely demise of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, the franchise is not stopping as the third installment of the franchise has reportedly got a greenlight for development.
Black Panther 3 and Other MCU Projects in Development
Marvel’s Black Panther
As per recent reports, Marvel Studios is aiming at fast-tracking a few projects including Black Panther 3, Eternals sequel, and Doctor Strange 3. The studio has refused to cast another actor for Chadwick Boseman’s role in subsequent Black Panther films and they went ahead with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever without the titular hero.
Black Panther 3 is also expected to follow the continuation of the story arc of the second installment, keeping Letitia Wright’s Shuri in the lead. In addition to the movie, the studio is also moving with an Eternals sequel despite the average reception of the first movie. However, the story arc and the end of the film demanded a sequel as it has more potential to explore several characters and storylines.
Harry Styles was introduced in the post-credit cameo of the film as Thanos’ brother Eros. Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman a.k.a. Black Knight is also expected to be explored. Further, after the astounding box-office success of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it makes sense for the studio to invest more in the franchise and they are reportedly working on the third installment of the franchise. An earlier report also claimed that Thor 5 was also in the works.
Thor 5, Major Updates
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor
Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder, Thor, is returning to the MCU with the 5th installment of the franchise, as per reports. Undoubtedly, Thor has been one of the most successful MCU franchises with an astonishing $2.98 billion box-office collection. Hemsworth, being one of the original Avengers, remained in the MCU and fans are far from being tired of the character.
However, director Taika Waititi will not return to the franchise as he made clear in a recent statement, “that I won’t be involved,” Waititi told Business Insider. “I’m going to concentrate on these other films that I’ve signed on for,” he added.
Also, unlike Waititi’s cosmic comedic nature in his versions of Thor movies, the fifth installment is expected to carry a darker tone. In Thor: Love and Thunder Hercules was seen in a post-credit scene, so, Hercules’ MCU debut is certain if Thor 5 rolls out and there is no good reason to cancel the movie.
