A Christmas trip to Disneyland Paris proved to be the stuff of nightmares rather than fairy tales for comedienne Katherine Ryan.

The comedian, 40, compared the park’s Disney Village to a ‘trash high street,’ after visiting the supposed happiest place on earth with husband Bobby Kootstra and children Violet, 14, two-year-old Fred, and 12-month Fenna last month.

She told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: ‘Everyone was vaping and smoking actual cigarettes whilst pushing a buggy or holding a child’s hand. I’ve never seen so much vaping in my life.’

Katherine also complained how she and her family failed to meet many of Princess or Disney characters, something that the park is known for.

‘I asked, “Where are all the characters?” It seemed very barren. We saw Jessie [from Toy Story] and the chipmunks and that was it.

‘When I took my daughter Violet there in 2011, there were loads of characters.

Before adding: ‘I did not have a nice time.’

Disneyland Paris first opened in 1992, with two theme parks inside the enormous complex, and welcomes an average 15M visitors a year.

It comes after Katherine  jumped on the I’m A Celebrity boycott bandwagon due to ITV‘s decision to let politicians, who have ‘directly hurt families’, join the show.

Last year she revealed she decided to turn down the opportunity to go in the jungle because she is ‘against glorifying dangerous people’.

Admitting she takes politics very serious, Katherine wasn’t impressed with Nigel Farage following in Matt Hancock‘s footsteps.

Speaking to the Metro, Katherine said: ‘I vehemently am against glorifying people like Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage and reducing them to light entertainment fodder when I think that they’re very dangerous people who have directly hurt lots of families.

‘I don’t think that’s a joke, for me, so I wouldn’t be watching. I didn’t watch last year. I take politics quite seriously.’

The signing of the GB News star has proved controversial as Nigel is a famously divisive figure, who is known for his right-wing views on immigration and gender pay gaps.

Fans have also threatened to boycott I’m A Celeb over their ‘tone deaf’ decision to let Nigel enter the jungle before he went on to finish in third place.
