Red Notice action star Gal Gadot now regrets organizing the tone-deaf, cringeworthy quarantine cover of John Lennon’s 1971 song Imagine when the coronavirus shut down the world in March 2020.
‘The pandemic was in Europe and Israel before it came here [to the States] in the same way. I was seeing where everything was headed. But [the video] was premature,’ the 36-year-old mother-of-three said in the February edition of InStyle, which comes out January 14.
‘It wasn’t the right timing, and it wasn’t the right thing. It was in poor taste. All pure intentions, but sometimes you don’t hit the bull’s-eye, right?’

Gal certainly wasn’t alone as her famous friends – Kristen Wiig, Sarah Silverman, Will Ferrell, Mark Ruffalo, Zoë Kravitz, Natalie Portman, Kaia Gerber, Cara Delevigne, and Jimmy Fallon – also saw no harm in millionaires singing about ‘no possessions’ from their mansions.
To poke fun of herself, Gadot sang the first few bars of Imagine while accepting her award at ELLE’s 2021 Women in Hollywood on October 19.
‘Yeah. Might as well. They had a mic there!’ the Wonder Woman star shrugged.
‘It just felt right, and I don’t take myself too seriously. And with the whole Imagine controversy, it’s funny…I felt like I wanted to take the air out of it, so that [event] was a delightful opportunity to do that.’

For the InStyle spread shot by Giampaolo Sgura, Gal glammed up in Valentino coat and By Far-brand Mary Janes selected by stylist Elizabeth Stewart.
Gadot ‘loved giving birth’ to her three daughters – Alma, 10; Maya, 4; and Daniella, 6 months – from her 13-year marriage to Pilot Wave producing partner Yaron ‘Jaron’ Versano.
‘I would do it once a week if I could. It’s so magical,’ the 5ft10in brunette gushed of labor.
‘And I always take epidurals, to be fair, so it’s not so painful. Just the moment you feel like you’re creating life, it’s incredible. But the pregnancies are hard for me – I feel sick and have migraines. I’m not in my element.’

Gal believes the most bada** thing she does is ‘juggling between my family life and my acting career.’
‘When you’re on set, you’re like a kite. You can fly so high and try to catch the air,’ Gadot described.
‘Then you go back home to do your main shift as being a mother. It’s not about me, it’s, “Okay, now I need to bathe Maya, feed Alma, put Daniella to bed.”‘

The star-studded ensemble cast also includes Branagh, Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright.
But Gal did reveal they’re ‘developing the script’ for Wonder Woman 3 and they’ll ‘probably start [production] in a year and a half or so.’

There will likely be an uproar over Gadot portraying Egyptian queen Cleopatra in a biopic in today’s climate of authentic casting.
‘We’re going to celebrate the Cleopatra story,’ the Israel Defense Forces veteran said.
‘We’re going to show not just how sexy and appealing she was, but how strategic and smart, and how much impact she had and still has on the world we’re living in today. I’ve watched all the Cleopatra movies throughout history, but I feel like we’re telling the story the world needs to hear now.’
