The pop star released the music video for her latest single, “Yes, And?” on Friday
Ariana Grande is back — and most certainly back on top.
On Friday, the pop star dropped “Yes, And?,” the first track off her forthcoming seventh album.
The music video begins with a group of jaded industry folks in an elevator, gossiping about Ms. Grande. But when they enter “The Loft,” everything changes, and they’re once again enthralled — and entertained. After descending upon a room of statues that will crumble, Grande immediately gets into the groove, reminding everyone what she’s done while delivering her choreography with a shrug and a smile.
The video, directed by Christian Breslauer, serves as a middle finger to Grande’s detractors, while she seemingly suggests that her life has become performance art — but she will give us a show, on her terms.
Grande first began teasing new music in December, when she shared photos from a recording studio on Instagram. She finally announced “Yes, And?” on Monday, much to the delight of her fans — and A-list pals like label-mate Nicki Minaj, who commented, “We are ready.”
The singer-actress — who will star as Glinda in the upcoming Wicked film adaptation — is set to drop the music video for “Yes, And?” on Friday morning at 10 a.m. ET.
