Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury: The world championship fight in the ticker

+++ The decision has been made! The referees decide on a draw despite two knockdowns by Deontay Wilders! The “Bronze Bomber” is therefore a little upset and expresses his great respect for his opponent.

+++ The twelfth and final round is underway! In the event of a draw, Wilder would retain his title. However, it doesn’t look like that at the moment. Fury goes down again after a powerful hook. Is the “Bronze Bomber” now cementing its reputation? Punch after punch rains down on the British giants. However, Fury doesn’t give up and still seems capable of landing a counterattack at any time.

+++ And let’s move on! Who will secure the WBC World Championship? In terms of points, Fury could currently have a slight advantage. Very few experts would have expected that he would still be in the ring in round eleven. Wilder is now noticeably irritated by his opponent’s steadfastness.

+++ Round ten is underway. Has Fury recovered from the first ground contact of the fight? Wilder should now try to end this fight. Strong uppercut from Fury, then the “Bronze Bomber” counters. The gong saves the Brit after Wilder launches a furious attack at the end of the round. The Brit says goodbye again to his corner with his tongue out.

+++ Deontay Wilder gets serious, Fury goes down for the first time in round nine after a powerful punch! Is the fight about to end now? Fury no longer looks the most stable. At the end of round nine, the Brit seemed more composed again and even provoked his opponent with his tongue sticking out.

+++ Hardly any time to breathe: lap eight is underway. Fury has obviously prepared extremely meticulously for this fight. The British giant has not yet noticed any fitness deficiencies. KO specialist Wilder now wants to live up to his reputation, but has not yet found the right remedy against his tough opponent. Fury lands another pointed right. Shortly before the gong sounds, Wilder makes a name for himself with a beautiful combination.

+++ Strong exchange of blows! Now the confrontation actually has the character of the announced battle, Wilder is now acting noticeably more aggressive. In round seven, however, Fury can land two or three good hits.

+++ Now things could get exciting. Deontay Wilder’s team is likely to insist that the “bronze bomber” can claim fitness advantages.

+++ After six rounds anything is still possible. In terms of points, the opponents appear to be roughly equal.

+++  “In my opinion, the winner of this fight is the greatest fighter in the heavyweight division,” says DAZN expert Hussein David Muhamed.

+++ The highly anticipated fight in Los Angeles has begun. In the first rounds, the opponents are likely to watch each other. How fit is Tyson Fury after his two-year doping ban?

Fight for the WBC World Championship: Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury get into the ring

Los Angeles – They poison each other, call each other nasty names and would like to jump at each other’s throats. But boxing world champion Deontay Wilder and challenger Tyson Fury have to be patient before they can beat each other up. On Saturday evening (local time) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the eagerly awaited heavyweight fight between WBC world champion Wilder from the USA and the loud-mouthed Klitschko conqueror Fury from Great Britain is on the program. “Asparagustarzan,” “bum,” Fury drools. “I looked into the killer’s eyes and all I saw was a kitten,” Wilder grins.

Both are undefeated. Wilder, known as the Bronze Bomber, won all of his 40 professional fights, including an incredible 39 by knockout. Fury won 27 times (19 knockouts). “I’m going to punch him in the face until he looks like the clown he is,” raged Fury. The 2.06 meter tall Brit provokes his opponent, like Wladimir Klitschko did back then, with sometimes absurd chatter and wants to infuriate him. You never know for sure: Is the 30-year-old just an annoying trash talker or does he actually mean what he says. Before the fight against Klitschko, his tirades were dripping with 𝑠e𝑥ism, anti-Semitism and homophobia.

How fit is Fury after his suspension?

“The great thing about this fight is that we’re all talking about it,” says former world champion Evander Holyfield. “I think Wilder wins.” Former champion Mike Tyson, who once bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear, disagrees. “Although Wilder is a strong puncher, nothing can compare to the mental strength that Fury has shown both inside and outside the ring.” The 33-year-old Wilder is favored, probably because Fury has only had two moderate build-up fights after his two-year doping ban has.

Wilder vs. Fury: Threats against the first in the rankings

The heavyweight rankings are led by British world champion Anthony Joshua (WBO, IBF, WBA-Super). Wilder and Fury have threatened to dethrone him several times. The doping-affected regular WBA champion Manuel Charr from Cologne does not belong in this category.

Calm, reason and predictability in the era of former champion Wladimir Klitschko, who reigned from 2006 to 2015, are over. “There’s a fever now, a lot of energy. Things had recently become boring under Klitschko,” says former European champion and World Cup fighter Luan Krasniqi from Rottweil. “If the fight goes over, I’ll bet on Fury. He was great against Wladimir.” Fury had snatched the IBF, WBO and WBA world championship belts from Klitschko in November 2015. After that, he quickly got rid of her because of doping and cocaine abuse. Binge drinking, depression, suicidal thoughts and frustration eating up to a weight of 170 kilos followed.

This time Fury also has positive news: He wants to give part of the largest stock exchange of his career, worth around ten million dollars, “to the poor and build houses for the homeless,” reveals the Brit. “I don’t have much use for it, I don’t care if I can become a millionaire or a billionaire. I’m a boxer and not a businessman.” Does he remember his words after the fight?
