Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, has annihilated his competition in recent times. He has been operating on a whole new playing field since 2022 and while the sport is currently at a halt, he has admitted that Red Bull does not build its car according to him.

Max Verstappen was able to put the RB19 through the absolute wringer last year. His teammate, Sergio Perez, also had the same car underneath him but was not able to perform anywhere near Verstappen’s level.

Seeing the Dutchman’s dominance, questions have been raised around Red Bull making his car around him. However, Verstappen does not agree with any of this and has thus, added, as reported by Motorsport.com:

When people ask you: ‘What is your driving style?’, I can’t tell you because it’s about being able to adapt to certain situations or what the car likes as well. What do I want? I want more grip. There’s a lot of things that you want, some things are not realistic. So, I just adapt to the car that I get given.

Looking at the reaction of Verstappen, he has made it quite clear that the Milton-Keynes-based F1 team does not make its cars as per his preference. Moreover, has emphasized that adaptability is the key behind his recent success.

Would Max Verstappen be able to win the 2024 F1 title?

While Verstappen has shed light on how he deals with the different Red Bull cars, he has been the top dog in F1 since winning his first world title against the Mercedes maestro, Lewis Hamilton. Since then, he has never looked back.

As things stand, the 26-year-old has won the F1 title three times and is being tipped as the favorite to secure this year’s gold as well. However, he could face some serious competition from the lights of Mercedes and Ferrari.

It has been two years since the dawn of the new regulations and all the teams have had their important learnings. Considering this, the 2024 F1 world championship fight could prove to be a three or a four-way battle.
