Fourfourtwo magazine has listed Cristiano Ronaldo on the list of hated football figures.
Not only Ronaldo, many famous figures in world football are also hated, including Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Diego Maradona. Meanwhile, the fact that Luis Suarez, John Terry or Sepp Blatter are on this blacklist does not surprise many people.
Fourfourtwo magazine recently published a list of the 32 most hated characters in world football. The name at the top of the table is Joey Barton, former Man City and England midfielder. The 41-year-old former midfielder is famous for his rough playing style, thuggish behavior and shocking statements. Most recently, Barton faced a lot of criticism for publicly criticizing women’s football.

Notably, Ronaldo ranked 7th on the list of the most hated figures in football. Fourfourtwo newspaper commented on the case of the Portuguese star: “No one can deny that Cristiano Ronaldo is among the best players of all time. However, as we have seen, greatness does not make you loved by everyone.
Ronaldo ranks 7th among most hated football figures
“Ronaldo always has an underlying arrogance in his play and in his personality. Typical conflicts in the dressing room like before leaving MU in 2022 caused this player to lose points with fans.
More hated than Ronaldo are John Terry (6th place), Michel Platini (4th place) or Sepp Blatter (2nd place). It is understandable why leaders involved in many corruption scandals are at the top of this blacklist.
Sir Alex Ferguson ranks 27th on the list of hated football figures. According to Fourfourtwo, neutral fans “are fed up with MU winning too many titles under Sir Alex”. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho ranked 10th because of his “hostile attitude towards referees and football officials” as well as because of the Portuguese strategist’s “boring bus-building defensive play”.
