Gareth Southgate will announce his England squad later today, and it is likely to include a couple of Chelsea players.
Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher have really impressed this season, with the former scoring in Chelsea‘s 3-2 win against Newcastle United on Monday.
However, according to The Telegraph, Raheem Sterling is not expected to be named in the England squad for the Three Lions’ games versus Brazil and Belgium this month.
Sterling has not played a match for his country since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and it now looks likely that he will miss out on the Euros.
Ben Chilwell will also be absent from Southgate’s squad after picking up another injury. Journalist Simon Phillips recently shared an update on the left-back’s knee problem.

Raheem Sterling not expected to be named in England squad
Sterling’s form has been up and down this season. He was left on the bench for Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Brentford at the start of March but started the Premier League game before against former club Manchester City and scored in it.
His last goal in the top flight before that came all the way back in November, showing how inconsistent the 29-year-old has been.
When you consider that, it is understandable if Southgate decides to leave Sterling out of his squad for England’s upcoming fixtures.
The winger now needs a strong finish to the season to have any chance of going to the Euros and to possibly save his Chelsea career.
The former City man, who joined the Blues for £50m in 2022, is a player who could reportedly be sold in the summer.
Should Sterling depart Stamford Bridge, Chelsea could replace him with Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams. The Spain international is currently being linked with a move to west London. He has scored three goals and provided seven assists in 23 league games this season.
