Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Excitement Grows as He Invites Jensen Ackles to Join The Walking Dead Spinoff – “Make It So!”

Jensen Ackles says he’s up for it if he’s available!

Officially stating their intention to collaborate in The Walking Dead Universe, Jensen Ackles and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will probably work together on Morgan’s spinoff series.

In 2016, Morgan, who costarred with Ackles as John Winchester on Supernatural, joined the main cast of The Walking Dead as the villain Negan in the show’s sixth season.

Since then, he has gradually evolved into a kind of anti-hero, and he currently co-leads a spinoff series called Dead City with Maggie Greene, played by Lauren Cohan.

As Bela Talbot, Cohan co-starred on Supernatural with Ackles.

CoveredGeekly has confirmed that Morgan and Ackles discussed their aspirations for The Walking Dead together on stage during a convention panel earlier this month in Burbank.

“Yes!” was Morgan’s upbeat response when a fan in the audience inquired if Ackles will ever get the opportunity to work on the zombie series.

He then revealed that they have already had talks about it: “Yeah, funny enough we had a conversation a couple of weeks ago about it… um… I think so.”

He added: “I mean, I’d love to have him [on Dead City], [Ackles] would love to come and do it – sometimes our schedules won’t work out quite the way we want them to”.

Jensen Ackles then weighed in on the matter: “This is a real sweet spot, I think in both our careers that we can- have dear friends who are thriving in you know a multitude of shows and movies and stuff.”

He added: “In this industry, people like to work with people they trust and so- now I have, we have friends who are doing really well and say ‘Hey, do you want to come over and do a spot on the show or you want to come do this movie together?’”

He continued: “So, there are those conversations quite a bit but like Jeff said, a lot of it comes down to availability and whether or not they can work that out but yeah I think any opportunity [we] get to go play on set together, that’s a good jump.”

Morgan then optimistically added: “We’d love it to happen, I’ll tell you that. Make it so!”

He added: “It’s not a big ask, I’d love to make it happen.”

Although the two have yet to star together in The Walking Dead, it should be noted that they are both now officially part of Supernatural showrunner Eric Kripke’s The Boys series on Prime Video.

Additionally, Ackles and his previous co-star Jared Padalecki have been more than vocal this past year about having a strong desire to revive the now-ended and aforementioned Supernatural series.

However, a revival has yet to be announced.
