High-quality: HENSOLDT and Airdyne Establish Revolutionary Partnership for C-130 Mission Aircraft Renovation.
Leading sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT recently joined forces with Brooksville, Florida-based Aerospac, Inc., a U.S. mission aircraft support supplier. The goal of this partnership is to improve diversified and integrated mission support capabilities, with a special emphasis on C-130 mission aircraft.
The collaboration unites Aerospac’s SABIR System with HENSOLDT’s “MissionGrid” portfolio of various sensor types and mission management systems. It was formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding signed on September 20, 2023. The modular architecture of the SABIR System makes it possible to integrate a range of mission-critical elements, such as airborne radar, COMINT (Communications Intelligence), ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) sensors, electro-optical sensors, and mission computers, that can be set up to adapt to different mission requirements.
Customers stand to benefit greatly from this partnership in the form of lower technical risk and faster integration timelines. It provides an adaptable, off-the-shelf solution appropriate for a range of mission profiles, such as marine patrol, law enforcement, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR).
The head of HENSOLDT’s Airborne Solutions Business Unit, Stefan Kolditz, highlighted the company’s extensive history of supplying avionics, mission management systems, and a variety of sensors for ISR operations. He emphasized that Aerospac’s adaptable SABIR system is the ideal addition to provide outstanding mission package solutions for C-130 clients around the globe, especially those engaged in low-intensity conflict situations.
A wide range of modular parts, such as Doors, Mission Pods, Workstations, Avionics Racks, Crashworthy Seats, Power Modules, and Robotic Struts, are included in Aerospac’s SABIR System. Full spectrum military operations, maritime patrol, surveillance, C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) response, crisis response, command and control, and even scientific and environmental research are just a few of the many missions that are supported by the SABIR mission systems.
The SABIR System is compatible with all variants of C-130 and can be installed either permanently or as a temporary modification module in between missions.
