As Tiger Woods will look to make his 24th consecutive cut at The Masters, he had a ‘great’ nine-hole practice round at Augusta National on Monday.
That intel is from Will Zalatoris, who played the Masters tune-up alongside the living golf legend.
Woods has only played 24 holes of competitive golf this year, equal to a full round at the Masters and a third of round No 2.
It will only be Woods’ eighth tournament since his February 2021 car crash, which has not stopped him from competing in any Masters tournament since 2022.
Yet, the 48-year-old Woods looks to turn back time again this week at arguably the most important event on golf’s calendar.

Zalatoris got to see Woods play up close as his partner for the prep for the huge tournament
‘He played great today,’ Zalatoris said of Woods. ‘He outdrove me a couple times, so there was some chirping going on. So, you know, he looks great. He’s moving as well as he can be.’
‘Again, with everything he’s gone through, it’s pretty amazing to see how good he’s swinging it,’ Zalatoris added.
‘It’s just everything the guy has done,’ Zalatoris continued of Woods. ‘You could just sit there and analyze the same stats for his entire career and put him in five different buckets and every one of them is never going to be broken.’
Zalatoris has come close to winning a major tournament before, finishing second at both the 2021 Masters and 2022 PGA Championship, with the latter going to a three-hole playoff against Justin Thomas.
Woods last major victory, and his only since 2008, was The Masters in 2019. His last win at any PGA Tour event was in October 2019.
Yet, Woods’ presence makes any golf event a spectacle, even as he ages and looks to continue his incredible streak of making the cut at The Masters.
