Conor McGregor is just over two months away from making his return to the octagon against Michael Chandler – but that isn’t stopping him from enjoying himself in Dublin pubs.
The legendary two-weight world champion broke his leg in his last UFC outing against Dustin Poirier in the summer of 2021, and has been out of action ever since. In that time, he has become synonymous with partying, and launched a new beer company among his many business ventures.
But last weekend he declared that he had just days left drinking alcohol, and in particular his own-brand whiskey and stout. And Bloody Elbow was on the scene as the MMA icon enjoyed an all-night launch party at an Irish bar on his final night before quitting the booze and starting training camp.
Conor McGregor vows to quit ‘the delicious’ as UFC comeback fight nears
McGregor has become infamous during his break from the octagon for his antics while out and about travelling the world. But with a big fight finally on the horizon, he has promised to leave aside his two beverage companies as he intensifies his training camp.
In an Instagram post directed towards Justin Bieber last week he declared that he had just five nights left “on the delicious” before he begins to knuckle down. McGregor wrote: “My brother @justinbieber, the Mac has your back for life!
“From Beverly Hills to the Bahamas! See you in Vegas bro, it’s game on, the Mac is back! Five more nights on the delicious and then that be that see ya’s tonight IM NOT F***ING LEAVING.” He also tagged his whiskey Proper Twelve and his Forged Irish Stout, as we as actress Jennifer Salke.
Conor McGregor delights fans in small Irish town as he parties into the morning weeks out from UFC fight
Last night, McGregor appeared at a launch event for his beer Forged Irish Stout which took place in the small County Meath town of Duleek. The town has a population of just under 5,000 people, and the majority of them descended on local hotspot Nanny’s to catch a glimpse of the fighting superstar.
In typical ‘Notorious’ fashion, the two-weight world champion arrived about two hours later than the expected 9pm start time. But it didn’t bother his fans, who swarmed the pub in massive numbers as he gleefully signed autographs and posed for selfies.
McGregor showed up with his long-time fiancee Dee Devlin and pals in a green Lamborghini, and was bombarded with fans from the second he left the supercar. Once in the pub, he was sat in a private section, guarded by multiple members of security from both his team and the venue.
He then made his way through the hundreds-strong crowd to the bar, where he joined staff in pouring pints of his Forged Irish Stout for delighted punters. He even indulged in a few light sips for the cameras, although he appeared not to be too interested in drinking heavily.
Bloody Elbow understands that McGregor had come from an intense day of training, where he had sparred with multiple high-level training partners. And he has for all intents and purposes been in the beginnings of a training camp for weeks, with the intensive two months beginning today.

Supporters of McGregor arrived in their hundreds to enjoy the party, which was open to the public as Nanny’s launched their new Forged Irish Stout taps. And he posed for a selfie with almost everybody who asked while also enjoying some downtime with his fiancee Devlin.
The UFC star gave a brief speech thanking the pub for having him and his fans for showing up to support the event. He also danced to pub music classics with fans and even led a sing song as the bar played the Irish national anthem.

Asked by Bloody Elbow if he had a message for Chandler, McGregor joked that his rival “already knows” what’s to come.
In a tweet last summer McGregor joked that he was “on the gargle every night and still gonna smack the s*** out of” Michael Chandler. But he has since insisted that he will be giving up the drink starting this weekend as he prepares for his cage return.
