Eva Longoria and her husband, José Bastón, are leaving Los Angeles for Spain due to concerns that their five-year-old son, Santiago, will be’sucked into the Hollywood cycle’ if they stay.
The 49-year-old actress and Mexican businessman Jose, 56, recently reduced the price of their eight-bedroom Beverly Hills house from $22.8 to $18.9 million. They have already begun shipping their stuff to their newly remodeled home in Marbella, Spain.
‘Eva and José are leaving Los Angeles permanently and have put their property up for sale again,’ a source informed DailyMail.com exclusively.
‘They removed it off the market in June, then relisted it for $4 million less in February because they are ready to sell.’

Although they slashed the price of their Beverly Hills home (seen here) they are still asking $5.4M more than what they paid for it when the brought the property in 2017
‘They want to raise their son in a place where he will be surrounded by nature and beauty,’ a source told DailyMail.com (pictured on Instagram with her son, Santiago)
This is still $5.4 million more than what they splashed out to purchase the 11,000 square-foot home in 2017.
‘They are already shipping their belongings there and this is not something that they will change their mind on.
‘They want to raise their son in a place where he will be surrounded by nature and beauty and not be sucked into the whole Hollywood cycle.’
The source added: ‘They are moving to their home in Spain full time and are both so excited about it. She has had everything that she wanted in Hollywood.’
The Desperate Housewives star – who married José in 2016 – purchased a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mega mansion in Marbella in early 2023, with the couple hiring architect and interior designer Nicolás Escanez to help renovate.
The 1,531-square-meter villa also boasts an indoor pool, sauna, and a state-of-the-art home gym.
In January, Texan-born Eva debuted their luxurious property in Hello magazine and told the publication: ‘The first time I came to Marbella, two decades ago, it was love at first sight. I said to myself: “Some day I’ll live here.”
‘Later, we set up the Global Gift Foundation, and this is where Antonio Banderas, my best friend María Bravo and I held the first gala.’
Eva serves as president of The Global Gift Foundation – a non-profit that aims to create a positive impact on the lives of children, women and families who are in need.
It was founded by María, a Spanish actress, businesswoman and philanthropist, in 2013.
According to its website, the mission of her foundation is to ‘help Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship.’

The stunning beauty told Hello magazine: ‘The first time I came to Marbella, two decades ago, it was love at first sight. I said to myself: “Some day I’ll live here”‘
‘My days are full of activities – paddle tennis, the beach, lunch, drinks, socializing,’ Eva told the outlet of her time on the Costa del Sol (pictured with Santiago on a Spanish beach)
Eva will be closer to her best friend Victoria Beckham, 50, who lives in London (pictured at Victoria’s recent 50th birthday bash in Instagram photo)
Speaking about finding the house, Eva continued: ‘Five years ago, I said to Nico, who’s very clued-up about property: “When you see the right place, let me know.”
‘I viewed a few places, but nothing was quite what I wanted. Finally, in early 2023, this house came on the market. It needed refurbishing, but it had just the size and location I was after.
‘So, taking advantage of the fact that I was in Barcelona filming, I came down and bought it that same day.’
She has spoken openly about her qualms with LA, telling the publication it is ‘always super busy’ and ‘not really so glamorous,’ adding: ‘I’m either on set, or in a meeting, or stuck in traffic… there’s so much traffic.
‘Both LA and Marbella are close to the sea and have wonderful weather year-round, but apart from that, they couldn’t be more different.’
She continued: ‘I don’t have a schedule here. My days are full of activities – paddle tennis, the beach, lunch, drinks, socializing… in fact, they’re full to the brim, but with things I really enjoy.’
Eva has Spanish citizenship and, in 2022, was given the honorary title ‘Dame’ due to her family roots tracing back to the Spanish city of Oviedo, where her ancestors are from.
Eva’s move will bring her closer to her best friend, Victoria Beckham, who lived in Los Angeles in 2007 when her soccer-star husband David joined LA Galaxy.
The actress, who was on hand to celebrate Victoria’s 50th birthday last weekend, previously opened up on her ‘inseparable’ bond with the former Spice Girl, admitting they even have sleepovers ‘all the time.’
‘I wish people knew how funny and charming and smart Victoria is,’ she told the Times last year. ‘She’s the funniest person. I think she’s an introvert, but she’s an extrovert with me. We are inseparable.
‘We have sleepovers all the time, mostly at their farmhouse or in London. We usually just blab all night.’
Eva is the most recent celebrity to leave Los Angeles for Spain – a trend which is becoming increasingly popular.
