The 2023 Golden Ball awards event took place at the Chatelet Theatre in Paris (France) early on October 31. It’s no surprise that Lionel Messi, the 2022 World Cup champion, beat out Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland to win his eighth Golden Ball of his career.
When he received the Golden Ball and the title of greatest player in history, Messi delivered a lengthy statement. The camera captured the three Messi brothers’ real faces as everyone in the theatre listened and congratulated El Pulga.
