Phil Foden’s party-loving mother blasted by neighbours for ‘deafening Disneyland two-hour fireworks display’ at her £3.5m Cheshire mansion ‘that left pets and children in immense distress’

Phil Foden’s party-loving mother has upset neighbours with a ‘deafening two-hour fireworks party’ that they compared to displays at ‘Sydney Harbour Bridge or Disneyland’ in the back garden of her house in leafy Cheshire.

Residents in the upmarket lane in Prestbury had to calm terrified pets and infants when the ‘display-standard’ pyrotechnics began and claimed they were given no warning by Claire Rowlands of the event which lasted from 6pm until 8.30pm on Wednesday night.

One, who lives close by, said: ‘It must have cost thousands.

‘They wouldn’t have looked out of place at the New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Sydney Harbour Bridge or at Disneyland!

‘Not that the neighbours were impressed. Most were concerned about their pets.’

Ms Rowlands, 45, moved into the £3.5million mansion bought by her Manchester City and England star son Phil in 2018. He lives in another property not far away.

An annoyed neighbour said: ‘There was no prior notice or warning, causing immense distress to residents’ dogs and babies.

‘In response, the locals […] wrote an open letter deploring the antics of the Fodens and the effect it is having on our lives.’

In July, neighbours of the player himself branded him ‘selfish’ and called for the club to get involved, claiming he held a noisy party until midnight with loud gangster rap music late in the evening, and his Doberman guard dog barking all day.

A local told MailOnline of his mother’s fireworks: ‘They do throw some wild parties there and it does get noisy.

‘People don’t mind them enjoying themselves, but this is ridiculous.

‘It’s beginning to be known as a party house and there’s always complaints about the noise and loud music!’

It is not known if Phil, 24, his partner Rebecca Cooke and the three children they share joined his mother for the bash.

But it is believed that the event was postponed one night because City were playing Sporting Lisbon on Bonfire night and Foden would have been back in time for the following evening.

Claire described herself as ‘like an animal’ after drinking when she was arrested for being drunk and disorderly outside a north Wales nightclub last September, then fined over £200 in January 2024.

She was abusive to police officers and body-cam footage showed her shouting at them to ‘f*** off ‘ before she was placed in handcuffs and arrested.

In police interview, Rowlands admitted: ‘I kicked off with the police officers. I was a bit of a b***h.’

She also told cops she was ‘like an animal’ when she had been drinking.

She said: ‘I do not drink often but when I do, I make up for time. I am like an animal.’

During the hearing at Llandudno Magistrates Court, PC Stephen Gunning said she had been ‘stumbling with her speech slurred and her eyes glazed’.

She was fined £100, with £85 prosecution costs and a £40 surcharge having previously admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Another neighbour added of last week’s fireworks display: ‘It was very loud and went on for a good couple of hours.

‘I know a lot of neighbours were very annoyed because it wasn’t your normal garden fireworks, it was display-standard stuff.

‘It must have been deafening for those living close by.

‘A few of the neighbours have complained because it was just too much for a residential area.’

Ms Rowlands was contacted for comment.
