Vinicius Jr. left the field due to injury, Brazil lost 1-2 to Colombia in World Cup qualifying

On Thursday night, in Brazil’s World Cup Qualifier match against Colombia, winger Vinicius Jr. had to exit the pitch after what appeared to be a hamstring injury, only minutes after he had set up Gabriel Martinelli for the game’s first goal.

Vinicius went down clutching his hamstring; the team doctors checked him out for a while on the field before making a substitute; Vinicius then left the field in a clearly agitated manner.

Fortunately, the Brazilian was able to leave the field unaided, though he did so with some difficulty. His left leg was treated as soon as he reached the bench.

It was not on the ball when the injury occurred. The task at hand was not difficult. Vinicius fell to his knees, grabbing his hamstring, while jogging alone.

When it comes to injuries, Real Madrid has had a terrible season. The hamstring injury that Vinicius suffered earlier this season caused him to miss four games. During this international break, two players hurt themselves—Eduardo Camavinga in France’s training session and Jude Bellingham at England’s.

Luis Díaz was the center of attention for the past 20 minutes. The Liverpool player had a barrage of opportunities of his own before tying the game with a header that went in off the crossbar.

Spectacularly, Colombia took the lead in a spectacular fashion when Díaz made an astonishing return to the box and headed home another shot less than four minutes later.

With this unbelievable victory, Colombia has moved up to third place, surpassing Brazil.

Real Madrid’s depth chart is deteriorating under Carlo Ancelotti, but at least Dani Ceballos and Bellingham will be back after the international break.
