Official reviews haven’t yet dropped, but social media reactions to the three-hour epic were decidedly polarised, with some viewers applauding the frontline actors, while others criticized the film as a mess.

It is written and directed by Damien Chazelle, who previously helmed the music drama Whiplash, the Oscar-winning musical La La Land and the acclaimed box office flop First Man, which starred Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong.

Babylon will be released in theaters on December 23, 2022.
