Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke feared ‘idol’ Beyoncé was ‘going to hate her’ following her character’s surprising arc

Plenty of celebrities shared their thoughts on Sunday night’s controversial Game Of Thrones finale.

But there was only one celebrity whose opinion the show’s star Emilia Clarke was concerned about, the Daenerys Targaryen actress told The New Yorker on Sunday.

Speaking of meeting her ‘idol’ Beyoncé at a party this year, the 32-year-old recalled thinking, ‘Please, please still like me even though my character turns into a mass-killing dictator!’

Queen meets Queen: There was only one celebrity whose opinion on Game Of Thrones Emilia Clarke was concerned about, the Daenerys Targaryen actress told The New Yorker on Sunday: Beyoncé

The English actress -whose royal character in the fantasy series takes a homicidal turn in the eighth and final season- spoke of meeting the Single Ladies hitmaker at the singer’s after-Oscars party earlier this year.

‘I see this vision, this angel, this incredible woman float towards me,’ recalled Clarke.

‘I can’t quite control myself. And Beyoncé says to me, “Oh, my goodness, it’s so wonderful to meet you. I think you’re brilliant.”‘

‘I just couldn’t handle it! I was on the verge of tears.’

‘All I wanted to scream was “Please, please still like me even though my character turns into a mass-killing dictator! Please still think that I’m representing women in a really fabulous way.”‘

The Terminator: Genisys star’s GoT character took a number of dramatic turns in the show’s final season.

Daenerys, aka The Mother Of Dragons, set the surrendering city of King’s Landing ablaze in the show’s penultimate episode, slaughtering thousands of innocent women and children in the process.

Then, in the show’s finale, she was abruptly assassinated by her lover/nephew, Jon Snow.
