Brilliant lady bags 4.73/5.00 first-class in Mechatronics Engineering, wins award as best graduating student

A brilliant lady named Chiamaka Akah has bagged a Mechatronics Engineering degree at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria with an outstanding 4.73/5.00 cumulative grade point. She also won the award of the best-graduating student.

Chiamaka bagged her bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria. She shared her achievements on Linkedin noting that that she went from being on the supplementary list to being the best graduating student.

She mentioned that she enrolled in the Federal University of Technology Owerri six years ago through the supplementary list, unsure of what the future holds but she started with humility and was determined to work hard and achieve great things.

”From the Supplementary List to the Summit Best Graduating Student Mechatronics Engineering. Six years ago, I got into FUTO through the supplementary list, unsure of what the future held. It was a humble beginning, but I was determined to make my ending loud,” she said.

Listing her accomplishments, Chiamaka stated that she is the top 1 out of the 63 First Class graduates from 5,000 students in the university. She was the best-graduating student of the Department of Robotics and Automation Option.

She was also the best-graduating student of the Mechatronics Engineering Department Class of 2022, and the best-graduating female student in the School of Electrical Systems Engineering Technology.

Chiamaka also mentioned that she is the only Female First Class Graduate in the School of Electrical Systems Engineering Technology. She stated during her study, there were moments she felt like giving up but she remained determined and focused.

She stated that she is a living testament to the fact that with resilience, hard work, and a belief in oneself, one can achieve the extraordinary. She also added that she is proof that one’s start does not necessarily determine their finish.

Chiamaka said though the journey was tough, the destination was worth every step and she is grateful to everyone who made it worth it.
