Lyon could be handed major headache by TAYLOR SWIFT as Ligue 1 strugglers face relegation dogfight

STRUGGLING French club Lyon could be handed a major relegation headache by Taylor Swift.

Lyon have won just one Ligue 1 game all season and find themselves rooted to the bottom of the table and six points adrift of safety.

The club are already on their third manager of the campaign with Pierre Sage being put in interim charge after parting ways with Laurent Blanc in September and Fabio Grosso last week.

With Lyon staring down the very real prospect of relegation, the French giants may be unable to shake off a huge potential problem at the end of the season.

Should Lyon climb up to 16th in the table they will still need to run the gauntlet of a relegation/promotion play-off.

The date of the tie would be on Sunday June 2 and would be played at Lyon’s 60,000-seater Groupama Stadium against the team who win the Ligue 2 promotion play-offs.

However, pop star Swift has sold out concerts at the venue on the Sunday and on Monday June 3.

That means Lyon may be forced to play the game at a neutral venue which would not help their safety prospects.

Lyon bosses pencilled in the gigs not expecting to be involved in a relegation dogfight.

But this move could have massive repercussions for a club which competed in the Champions League semi-finals only three seasons ago.

But he restated his long-held view of using diplomacy to avoid problems.

Britain’s multi-billion pound aircraft carriers get sunk ‘in most war games’ – and officials have discussed mothballing one to save cash

Britain’s recently built multi-billion pound aircraft carriers may already be out of date, with military sources revealing that the carries get sunk ‘in most war games’. At present, the Royal Navy boasts two £6.2 billion aircraft carriers, the HMS Queen Elizabeth and the HMS Prince of Wales, which were only commissioned into service in 2017 and 2019 respectively. However, given the constant advancements in weapon technology, the ships may now be too susceptible to modern missiles to prove effective in wartime operation.
