He too, has come a long way from his previous trouble-making days.

In fact, Thomas is thoroughly committed towards proving to Hope and everyone else that he is a good and present father to Douglas. That is something that has brough him and Hope all the more closer. However, no one else can really see it. Perhaps they are still judging them from their history. Maybe that’s why Liam was so disgusted when Hope first brought up the topic of having a baby with Thomas eventually.

Hope and Liam’s divorce is in progress, and once she cuts those ties, she will be free to start a new life with Thomas. The two could mutually decide that the best way to move forward would be to bring their baby into the world, which will strengthen their ties further. Or there could also be a accidental pregnancy.
