The rapper and recent Houstonian has some new duds.
Drake, rapper and newly minted Texan, was spotted in Houston this week doing a little holiday shopping.
TikToker @Wickedavo posted a video of Drake and his entourage, which appears to include Drake’s mustachioed father Dennis Graham, shopping at Post Oak Plaza. “Was shocked when I seen him lol,” Wickedavo wrote.
In the video, the elder Graham walks out of a store carrying several shopping bags, followed by what looks like private security, and then Drake, who is wearing cowboy boots, buckskin gloves, and an impressive fringed suede jacket. Later in the TikTok, Wickedavo captures video of a black Mercedes-Maybach Sedan with a large set of longhorns attached to the grill, Drake’s apparent transportation.
Turns out the “God’s Plan” rapper was shopping at Pinto Ranch, a Texan-owned purveyor of fine Western wear and other Western lifestyle goods. Pinto Ranch posted a photo of Drake in the store on their Instagram page on Dec. 7, a day after the TikTok video was posted.
Drake, born Ashley Graham, is just the latest Texas-adjacent celebrity to parade around in Yellowstone-style cosplay, following Amazon founder and onetime Houstonian Jeff Bezos, who appeared in a photoshoot for Vogue in November looking like Crocodile Dundee, and Elon Musk, who wore an ill-fitting Stetson while visiting the border in Eagle Pass, Texas, in September.
Drake, it appears, followed in their cringy footsteps by wearing the outfit he just bought out of the store. For anyone hoping to emulate Drizzy’s look, the jacket is a Skully brand bead-trimmed boar suede coat, which retails for a reasonable $425. The boots are Black Jack caiman belly in the color chocolate and will set you back a cool $1,295. The gloves are from Geier Glove Company and cost about $80.
Chron is now taking bets on whether Drake is prepping for his first appearance at RodeoHouston.
