The news that 4 members of Blackpink re-signed a contract with entertainment company YG Entertainment became the focus of Asian media. In particular, the fans’ reaction to Lisa was quite surprising.
On December 6, entertainment group YG Entertainment confirmed that 4 members of Blackpink all renewed their contracts. “After careful discussion with Blackpink, we signed an exclusive contract for group activities based on trust,” YG Entertainment representative affirmed.
The information is considered good news for fans because the successful contract extension partly confirms that Blackpink’s future will be stable.

The contract renewal information between Blackpink members and YG Entertainment went straight to the top of searches and discussions on the social network Weibo (China). After an hour of posting, information about Blackpink attracted more than 1 million views.
However, group member Lisa still faces a wave of reactions from the Chinese online community. She is being banned from broadcasting “underground”, deleting her personal page and fanpage (fan page) with millions of subscribers on Weibo. Bvlgari and Céline China – two brands for which Lisa is an ambassador – have removed videos and images related to the female singer.
Lisa performed at Crazy Horse strip nightclub in Paris (France) last September. Her daring performances caused her to be heavily criticized by Korean and Chinese audiences, even declaring a boycott.

Over the past month, Lisa was said to be limited in her activities in China. Therefore, Lisa’s re-signing with YG Entertainment did not receive a positive response from fans of the billion-dollar nation. On entertainment forums, many sarcastic comments appeared on the Thai-born female singer.
Lisa is the only non-Korean member in the Korean idol group Blackpink. She was born and raised in Thailand, then was discovered during an audition by Korean entertainment group YG Entertainment at the age of 14.
From 2011, Lisa moved to Korea to begin her official training as a trainee for 5 years. Since 2016, she has been active as a member of Blackpink.
The 9X generation female singer has 98.8 million subscribers on Instagram and is the member with the largest fan base of the Blackpink group.
It is known that although Blackpink members agreed to renew their contract with YG Entertainment, this is only a group contract. The members’ individual activity contracts are not announced by YG Entertainment.
According to sources in China and Korea, Lisa is said to have signed a contract with an entertainment company in the US to develop her own career.
