It seems like Aaron Rodgers has a new hobby! A-Rod has got a big tattoo on his arm. This was not his first time getting a tattoo, as the veteran QB already got inked prior to his recent tattoo. However, this one seems special, as it represents something truly close to his heart.
t seems the New York Jets quarterback doesn’t prefer to get tattoos just for the fun of it. On Thursday, he revealed a few pictures of his new tattoo on his Instagram handle. He also tagged his tattoo artist, Balazs Bercsényi, in the post.
This is no ordinary ink as one might think; his tattoo is a powerful depiction of a Chinese dragon. Usually, people get a dragon inked to symbolize freedom, strength, and wisdom. But, Rodgers’ dragon is elegantly looping over itself to form the number “8”, which represents his current jersey number. Flanking this majestic creature are the words “two” and “twelve.” The number ‘2’ is a tender homage to his birthday on December 2.
The number “twelve” holds an additional layer of sentimentality, as it was the jersey number he donned at the Green Bay Packers. This wasn’t his first meaningful tattoo, as his previous tattoo had a deeper meaning.
Not very long ago, the world got to know about Rodgers’ first tattoo. In an interview with the NFL Network, the QB happily revealed the meaning when asked about it.
He said, “If you’re not a student of astrology, there’s going to be some weird things to look at in there.” Later, he added that his tattoo consists of “three signs at the top: Aquarius to the right, Sagittarius in the middle, and Scorpio on the far left.” The meaning behind the tattoo was that he got it for his godsons.
Rodgers added that he always wanted to get a representation of his godsons. He said that he has two Godsons. One of his godsons is an Aquarius and one of them is a Sagittarius. So, to represent them, he got that tattoo. Scorpion was for his own self as he resonates with that sign the most. What do you think of Rodgers’ tattoos?
