Manchester United flop Angel Di Maria has proved that class is permanent after he found the net directly from a corner in the Champions League.
Di Maria, who now plays for Benfica, travelled to Austria to take on Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday evening. It was a straight shoot-out between the two sides for third place – and a spot in the Europa League.
Benfica had to beat Salzburg by a bigger margin than the Austrian side had in Portugal on Matchday One. And they managed it, netting three goals, with Di Maria breaking the deadlock directly from a corner in the first-half.

“Goals from corners are like holes in one. Great outcome, but it’s unintentional,” one fan responded. While a second said: “The most underrated player of all time!”
“Di Maria is one of the most clutch, big game players football has ever seen. Swear Di Maria only loves big games,” a third gleamed. And another added: “Manchester United nearly wasted Di Maria’s career…what a player!”
Di Maria spent an ill-fated season at Old Trafford, and it left such a bad impression on the Argentine he now flicks off the Red Devils when they’re on TV.
“Di Maria hates Manchester United,” Marcin Bulka, who played with Di Maria at PSG explained to Polish YouTube channel Foot Truck. “He has no good memory of the time he spent there.
“In fact, when something related to Manchester United appears on television, the channel quickly changes.”
