This Is Why Paul Feig Is Waiting for Harry Styles’ Downfall
Director Paul Feig once disclosed to The Sun (via Mirror) that he had made numerous attempts to cast Harry Styles in his movies but faced continual setbacks. One of the most notable instances was when the Grammy winner was offered a role in Last Christmas, the 2019 spectacle directed by Feig. However, the singer turned down the role, expressing that he felt he was too young for the character. He revealed,
“I love Harry. We wanted him to play the part that Henry Golding played but he turned it down because he felt he was too young for the role.”

He thus continued,
“I’ve tried to get him in a few movies. Harry is a big-shot now. Maybe we will get him when he is on the way down.”
Since then, the singer has notably declined the director for several other roles, although the specifics remain unknown. Consequently, the director attributes these rejections to the singer’s meteoric rise to fame. Thus, he hilariously insists on waiting for the singer’s hypothetical downfall before considering offering another role.
Other Roles Harry Styles Almost Starred In
The singer made his debut in the 2017 Christopher Nolan film Dunkirk and has since landed roles in numerous movies like Don’t Worry Darling and Eternals.
