“Aquaman” star Jason Momoa said that he reached out to longtime Marvel actor Chris Hemsworth when the time came to get in shape for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
“I actually called Chris to help me get ready for ‘Aquaman,'” Momoa told Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi during a recent interview ahead of the sequel’s release.
Hemsworth has been playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the 2011 standalone film “Thor.” Most recently, he suited up as the God of Thunder in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” released in 2022.

Momoa said he turned to Hemsworth for help because the jacked actor created the fitness website and app Centr, which includes workouts, recipes, and meditations.

“It’s wonderful,” Momoa said. “To me, he is the poster man for in shape. He looks wonderful.”
“He’s extremely big and I just don’t have that in me,” he continued.
Momoa’s comments were prefaced by the reporter mentioning his fake feud with Hemsworth, which began when the actor posted a video on TikTok showing off his “Aquaman 2” superhero suit, which includes fake muscle padding.
“What’s up, Hemsworth?” Momoa said. “You had to work out, I didn’t.”

In response, Hemsworth posted a video of himself wearing a white tank top and working out his bulging bicep using a resistance band.
“That’s a lovely padded costume you got there, Jason,” the Australian actor said. “I prefer a skin suit myself, mate.”

Making it clear that the video was all in good fun, Hemsworth said: “I love you, Aquaman.”
“There is no beef,” Momoa clarified to Extra, adding that there’s no question about who’s more ripped.

“He wins, he wins,” Momoa said of Hemsworth. “That was supposed to be a joke.”
“We’re friends,” Momoa added. “We just get a kick out of it because I’m definitely not as big as him. I have to wear a suit to be that big.”
As part of his fitness routine for “Aquaman 2,” the actor said that he and his trainer did yoga, which they call “extreme stretching,” to improve his flexibility.
“It’s just more of protecting yourself so you can do the stunts,” Momoa said. “I enjoy the fighting aspect of it and training with the stuntmen, but it’s more of just padding up and making sure that you’re flexible.”
