Keanu Reeves Reveals Which Comic Book Character Is His Dream Role That Hollywood Has Denied Him Playing For Years

Keanu Reeves is willing to reprise some of his most iconic roles, such as that of ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’, which has already been released, and that of Neo, who returned in ‘The Matrix Resurrections’.

On this occasion, Reeves confesses that his great dream is to play John Constantine againthe demon hunter from ‘Hellblazer’, who starred in ‘Constantine’ (2005), a film that has earned the affection of comics fans over time.

John Wick, the relentless assassin, faces the forces of evil

Reeves’ film, despite being faithful to the comics, was not successful, grossing only $230.9 million worldwide. Although he doubled the money Warner invested in her, it was not enough, and critics received her coldly and the character’s fans rejected her at first. The film was forgotten, but the actor has regained his fame and now he says that he would like to play John Constantine again in The Late Show with Stephen Colbertwhere he confessed:

“I would love to play John Constantine again, from the Constantine movie. I tried to make a sequel years ago, but no one in Hollywood was interested. I tried, Stephen.”

The actor had already expressed this illusion before. In an interview with Esquireconfessed that he would like to have another chance to be the sorcerer.

“I’ve played against Johns a lot. How many Johns have I played? I don’t even know. I think there are more than ten. But anyway, I would love the opportunity to play Constantine again.”

Director Francis Lawrence had already expressed in 2011 his desire to make a sequel to Constantine, with a “darker and more adult version.”

“It’s interesting that over the years, Constantine seems to have become… like it has this kind of cult following, which has been great. It’s been embraced. It would be great to think about a sequel, and if it does “If we did, and we’ve been trying to find one, it would be great to do the really dark, scary version. We got stuck in that weird PG-13-R no man’s land, and we should do the hard-R scary version, which I would love to do.” .
