Erling Haaland scored the 36th and 37th goals of his UEFA Champions League career on Wednesday night as Manchester City won 3-1 away to Swiss side Young Boys.
Haaland’s brace in Bern made him the youngest boy in UCL history to reach 37 goals.
The City striker was aged 23 years and 96 days on Wednesday – 199 days younger than Kylian Mbappe was when he netted his 37th Champions League goal in October last year.
Haaland’s first 37 UCL goals have come in just 33 appearances in Europe’s top club tournament.
Mbappe also added to his Champions League tally on Wednesday.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward – now less than two months away from his 25th birthday – scored the opener in a 3-0 home win over AC Milan.
Mbappe has now scored 42 goals in 64 Champions League appearances.
Both Haaland and Mbappe still have a long way to go if they are to break Cristiano Ronaldo’s record as the all-time leading scorer in the UCL.
Ronaldo netted 140 times in 183 appearances during his record-breaking Champions League career in Europe.
