Deontay Wilder has made it clear to Joseph Parker that Tyson Fury cannot help him in their fight on Saturday night.

At Thursday’s final press conference ahead of their clash in Saudi Arabia, the close relationship between the pair was brought up.

Parker has been training alongside Fury for several years now.

His head coach, Andy Lee, is the Gypsy King’s cousin and was his assistant trainer when he twice stopped Wilder.

As such, Fury was asked last month what advice he’d given Parker and said: “Don’t get hit in the face with one of them big KO right hands and you’ll be alright.

“Avoid the right hand! That’s my tip for Parker. What more else can you say?

“Don’t get hit by the right hand and you’ll win the fight.

“Easy day, isn’t it? Sounds easy, anyway. I think Parker will do him.”

At Thursday’s final press conference, presenter Dev Sahni asked Parker: “Tyson Fury has said, ‘All you’ve got to do is keep out of the way of the right hand. Is that it? Is that the plan?”

Parker answered: “Correct. That’s what I’m gonna do.”

Sahni then turned to Wilder and asked: “There’s more to Deontay Wilder than just a right hand, right?”

To which the American replied: “We’re gonna find out Saturday night.

“I’m glad that he’s getting advice, I hope he’s taking it all in.

“Because when he wakes up he’s gonna be like, ‘Damn, they lied to me.'”
