Roger Federer shares special message on his foundation’s 20th anniversary

Roger Federer issued a message on his foundation’s 20th anniversary as the Swiss tennis icon is grateful to everyone who helped the Roger Federer Foundation make a positive impact and influence. On December 24th, 2003, a 22-year-old Federer launched his foundation. Since then, Federer’s foundation has been helping kids across Southern Africa to get early education. “Today is the Roger Federer Foundation’s 20th anniversary! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past two decades. We wouldn’t have been able to impact the lives of so many children without you,” Federer wrote on X.

Federer was very happy with his foundation’s work in 2022

In early 2023, Federer reflected on his foundation’s work in 2022. In his message, Federer detailed the work his foundation was able to do and declared 2022 as “another impactful year” for the Roger Federer Foundation.

“This last year, 2022, has been another impactful year for the foundation. We continue to make strides across Southern Africa with early childhood education. Please see some of the highlights we have achieved since the start of the foundation in 2003: 2.4 million children benefited from higher quality early education. More than 44,000 teachers improved their abilities thanks to training. More than 12,000 educational institutions have improved the quality of their curriculum. The RF Foundation has operated in 7 countries together with 29 partner organizations. We have invested 77.5 million Swiss francs to help improve education in Switzerland and Southern Africa. Thanks to everyone who has been there to support me since 2003. This year we will celebrate our 20th anniversary together! In January, Federer will probably issue a review for his foundation’s work in 2023.
