Following rumors that he could be playing Kidpool in the MCU, Disney+ Percy Jackson actor Walker Scobell talks about his possible role in Deadpool 3.
Walker Scobell reveals if he is in Deadpool 3. The star of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians is rumored to play the Deadpool variant known as Kidpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Deadpool 3‘s cast is led by Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, with several characters from Fox’s X-Men movies and more rumored to appear in the film. Through Deadpool 3‘s multiverse story, variants of the film’s lead hero could appear, and Scobell is rumored to play one of them.
Speaking to ComicBookMovie.com‘s Josh Wilding at the global press conference for the Percy Jackson series, Scobell addressed the rumors that he is in Deadpool 3.
While Scobell said he would love to reunite with Reynolds and Owen Wilson — the latter of whom is not confirmed to appear in Deadpool 3 as of this moment — the Percy Jackson actor is seemingly not in the movie, saying, “I’m hoping to reunite someday, but I don’t know.” Check out the full quote below:
“Not that I know of, but I learned a lot of valuable lessons from them that I used while filming Percy Jackson. And, um, yeah, I’m not sure—I’m hoping to reunite someday, but I don’t know.”
Why Walker Scobell Would Be Perfect For Deadpool 3
The Percy Jackson Star Would Excel As Kidpool In The MCU
Scobell’s previous work experience with Reynolds is the perfect example of why he would be perfect as Kidpool in Deadpool 3. The duo worked together on Netflix’s The Adam Project, with the movie seeing both actors play the same character as a kid and an adult. Given how Kidpool is a young version of Wade Wilson, Scobell and Reynolds could easily repeat the successful formula of their hit Netflix film.
The Adam Project was also directed by Shawn Levy, who is in charge of Deadpool 3, making the possibility of Scobell appearing in the movie as Kidpool even more exciting. In the Netflix movie, as well as his lead role in Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Scobell has shown that he possesses the necessary comedic timing and ability to play sassiness well that a Deadpool variant needs. Besides, Scobell is a Deadpool fan.
When The Adam Project was released, Reynolds shared a set video of Scobell accurately recounting a scene from Deadpool 2. The actor performed one of Deadpool’s monologues from the movie to hilarious results, showing that he has what it takes to join the mutant franchise. With the multiverse playing a heavy role in Deadpool 3, the Deadpool Corps could be on the way — as teased by Deadpool 3‘s Dogpool — and Scobell would make for an exciting addition to the MCU as Kidpool in Deadpool 3.
