On Thursday she put on a grand, attention-grabbing show as she inched out of her hotel crying in a long white gown.
But Lady Gaga is always eager to do the unexpected, and did just that when she arrived at New York City’s JFK Airport on Friday wearing an uncharacteristically basic flannelette shirt over boots.
The 27-year-old singer seemed unconcerned with making too much of a scene on this one-off occasion as she sauntered out in the easy, casual ensemble.

Dressing down: Lady Gaga made a significant change on Friday as she showed up at JFK airport in a casual flannelette shirt after her interesting white gown and drawn-out performance walk
Making sure she didn’t entirely tow the line, Gaga’s shirt was especially short and whatever was underneath threatened to go on show as she shimmied out between a number of burly bodyguards in suits.
She wore black lace-up boots with frilly socks poking out the top, as well as round frame sunglasses, and topped off her outfit with a little self-promotion.
She wore what looked like a NASA cap, but instead of NASA it read DOPE – which happens to be the name of the Poker Face singer’s next single from her upcoming album ARTPOP.
A helping hand: The singer was escorted out of the airport by burly men in suits

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is being sued over her 2009 song entitled Teeth.
Music producer and singer Teddy Riley – who was a member of 1990s hip-hop group Blackstreet – has filed a lawsuit against the 27-year-old pop star, claiming he hasn’t received any of the payments he is owed after the song was included on her smash hit The Fame Monster EP.
Teddy, 46, says he was promised 25 per cent of the writing fees for the song but hasn’t been paid at all, and he is now seeking $500,000 as well as punitive damages, reports TMZ.
Emotional: Lady Gaga covered up in a floaty Todd Lynn dress for a visit to Radio 1 on Friday but was sporting some tear stained cheeks

Gaga’s Fame Monster EP, which was released after her debut album The Fame and before her second album Born This Way, is credited with establishing her as one of the most popular music artists today and it also features hit songs such as Telephone, Bad Romance and Alejandro.
In January, Teddy hit the headlines after he sued his own daughter, aspiring songwriter Taja Riley, after she allegedly claimed she co-wrote Teeth.
Taja landed a music publishing deal as a result of her supposed involvement, however, Teddy insists his daughter’s claims about her ‘participation in the creation of the composition, authorship, and ownership [of Teeth] are all false and untrue’.
Statuesque: The popstar’s latest ensemble appeared to be inspired by a sculpture with her dusty makeup and white dress
On Thursday, the star dressed in a significantly less conventional outfit as she emerged from her London hotel on Thursday, and with her tear stained cheeks Gaga ensured all eyes were on her.
Dressed in a Todd Lynn full length white dress, Gaga ditched her usual towering heels to go barefoot for her walk from the Langham hotel to her car on Friday morning.
With it’s backless design, the floaty dress didn’t expose too much flesh but Gaga let her makeup do the talking as she strolled outside.

Emotional week: Lady Gaga lost her childhood pet puppy earlier this week, sharing her grief with her Twitter followers
With a dusting of white powder covering her features, Gaga added rosy highlights to her eyes, lips and cheeks. With her powder streaked and looking uncharacteristically downcast, it looked as though the star had been crying.
Perhaps the star’s tearful mood is down to the loss she suffered earlier this week, with the hitmaker telling her Twitter followers on Tuesday evening that her pet dog had died:
‘My puppy Alice died. We had to put her down, cancer ate away at a little angel. My daddy is so sad, we all are, lost a member of our family.’
She continued: ‘I love being an entertainer but it is so painful sometimes to be away from home 17 years she held on, so many memories. Nothing beats family.I remember her laying my bed, she knew when I was sad, or when I was sick. I should have been there. I just pray Alice found her wonderland.’
Dry your eyes mate: The singer appeared in an emotional mood as she headed to Radio 1 for her final interview after a week in London
In demand: The star stopped for the army of photographers who have kept a constant presence outside the Langham hotel all week
