Cole Palmer is probably the best piece of business Chelsea have done since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Cole Palmer has been in tremendous form for Chelsea this season after joining the club from Manchester City. In 16 Premier League appearances, the attacker has come up with 12 goal contributions.
However, it is probably time to start recognising Malo Gusto as a great addition to the Blues’ squad, too.
The right-back arrived at Stamford Bridge from Lyon in a £30.7m deal (BBC Sport), which is now starting to look like a real bargain.
Malo Gusto a bargain
Gusto has performed like a real modern-day full-back of late. His attacking play has been excellent.
For example, his cross for Armando Broja’s goal in Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Preston North End in the FA Cup yesterday was fantastic.
The Frenchman has also been showing versatility, playing at left-back. And at 20, he obviously has time to become so much better.
When you consider all of that, £30m for Gusto, who recently shared an Instagram story Chelsea fans will love, was great business.

Malo Gusto an important signing
Chelsea’s first-choice right-back Reece James has had a lot of injury problems over the last few seasons.
The 24-year-old is currently sidelined after undergoing hamstring surgery and is set to be out for a while.
It is why it was so important for Chelsea to add another quality right-back to their squad, which they did after bringing in Gusto. At this point, it is simply too risky to rely on James too much.
Hopefully the England international comes back stronger after recovering from his operation. If not, then Gusto could end up becoming Mauricio Pochettino‘s first-choice right-back. His first season at Stamford Bridge is going well; the former Lyon man has shown a lot of promise.
