When it comes to a theme like this year’s Met Gala’s – one name springs to mind, Lady Gaga .

But the star split fans as she hit the red carpet in a bizarre silver corset-style leotard at the 2016 bash, flashing her bum in the revealing one-piece.

The star went for her usual dramatic look in the skintight number, wearing a silver tiny jacket over the top and almost flashing too much as she added fishnet tights to the ensemble.

Matching the outfit, she wore her hair huge and added bright red lippy as she posed up – leading the metallics on the night.

While some fans were wary of the edgy look, others were full of compliments.

One wrote: “Lady gaga slayed my entire LIFE with her met gala outfit good lord I can’t stop thinking about it.”

She wasn’t alone in following the theme, but while the singer went all out – others opted for safer options on the night – stunning in silver and whites.

Kim and Kanye West both rocked Balmain – and the reality beauty leg bombed her way along the red carpet in the shiny couture look which clung to her famous curves.

Kim wore the form-fitting dress, which was nipped in at the waist and had long sleeves, with a pair of silver strappy heels and chunky, dazzling jewels.

The star, whose make-up looked as flawless as ever, bleached her eyebrows a few shades lighter and wore her dark locks scraped back away from her face.

And following the theme perfectly was Kim’s little sister Kylie Jenner, who matched up in her own dazzling gown, showing off her tiny waist with sheer panels down each side.

But perhaps stealing the crown for most daring outfit of the night was Homeland star Claire Danes, who rocked up in a HUGE silvery blue number.

And as if the outfit itself wasn’t enough on its own – a snap of the gown lighting up then went viral online – because why wouldn’t it.
