In this remarkable testament to the global impact of K-pop, more than half of the top 10 best-selling albums in the United States in 2023 belong to the Korean music genre.According to Chart Data, Taylor Swift‘s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version),’ claimed the top spot with 800,000 units sold. As always, Taylor Swift didn’t disappoint with her reimagined album ‘1989,’ which is filled with nostalgic hits and fan favorites and has resonated with audiences across the United States.
Following right behind the pop star was Stray Kids, one of the most popular K-pop groups overseas. Stray Kids secured two spots on the TOP 10 with ‘5-Star‘ and ‘Rock Star,‘ selling 520,000 and 381,000 units in ranks 2 and 4, respectively.
Securing the third position was TXT, whose album ‘The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION‘ boasted an impressive sales figure of 442,000 copies. Notably, at the fifth spot, NewJeans achieved a commendable feat with their album ‘Get Up.’ This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy, considering that the girl group debuted just a year ago.
At 6th place was TWICE with their album ‘READY TO BE,’ followed by Seventeen at 7th place with ‘FML.’ Finally, Jungkook took 10th place with his first solo album ‘Golden.’
