One player who Chelsea are interested in looks like he could be heading for the exit door this summer.
Chelsea could make a move for Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies in the summer, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
Davies is out of contract in 2025 and another journalist, Christian Falk, recently claimed on Substack that Bayern will not pay “crazy money” to convince him to stay because they are “not confident” about his performance levels at present.
Real Madrid are also keen on the 23-year-old and a report from Sport Bild back in October stated that they could be prepared to pay up to €50m (£43m) for his signature.
Chelsea just loaned out Ian Maatsen to Bayern’s rivals Borussia Dortmund, making space for another left-back in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.

It appears that Bayern may actually be open to selling Davies. If they are not going to hand the Canada international the kind of contract that can persuade him to stay at the Allianz Arena, then there is a good chance that they will sanction a departure.
It is really hard to imagine the Bundesliga champions letting a valuable asset like that run down his deal before leaving the club on a free transfer.
It is good news for Chelsea, though it looks like they may have to take on Real Madrid for his signature. And if the Blues do, it is not a battle you would expect them to win, at least right now with where they currently are.
It is a shame, as Pochettino could really do with a quality left-back like Davies coming in. The Blues boss is currently playing central defender Levi Colwill on the left side of his defence, while Ben Chilwell keeps picking up injuries.
